Agree and to think the world champ is going to be found flicking airs at Treatles rather than heaving waves such as Cloud Break or Pipe .WSL will lose credibility if there is no place for someone surfing like Wade .

They should win every title from now til forever. Maybe Toledo will win a title after all?. I mean why not just go the whole hog and have the whole tour in a bunch of 1 ft wave pools on waves it’s not possible to do a proper cutback on!

Power surfing should be scored the same if not higher than blowing a whole line just to do an air. Airs are amazing, but these turns are where the real power lies. Wow. Amazing entry Stab!

Yeah how is one crappy air rev worth a 6.73( Italo’s last wave to win at D bah last year) Yet you could throw 2 or 3 sick gouges and get a 5!??One sick cutback should be worth more than one shitty air rev. I mean big punts sure. They deserve to be scored. Throw something crazy and you deserve a 10. Pop a lame ass little rotator and get a 7. Yet throw a huge full speed cutty to foam bounce and get a 4. Doesn’t make any sense?? And on that note, Kolohe gets so burnt by the judges every year! I’m not sure why his airs are scored so low compared to the Brazzas? It’s quite bewildering as a fan. The blatant favouritism by the judges does my head in. Sick edit though🤙🏼

I think the DNA of your home break is imprinted on everyone that surfs. I see so many glimpses of surfer’s styles that I grew up surfing with at Avoca in Wade’s powerful style, people that he may have never have been in the water with, but whose surfing style has been passed on through a collective conscious. Tough to reinvent yourself in your late 20s too.. Seems to me he’s just enjoying his time on the CT while it lasts(if it ever returns). I mean the guy was laying bricks a few years ago to fund his QS campaign/get to Hawaii each season. He’s living the life now and not compromising his values/lifestyle to fit the mould.
