Dude. This is a PROFESSIONAL tournament and they are PROFESSIONAL players; thus, they must act PROFESSIONALLY. One rule states that opening/using other applications/platforms is strictly prohibited right from the drafting phase at the onset of each game. Only the Dota2, Steam and TeamSpeak programs should be active. The fact that he violated that rule by having the concurrent stream of their game via browser opened in the background is a grave misconduct. It was utterly unprofessional, to say the least. They were lucky the punishment was only the technical defeat to Tundra resulting to their relegation to the lower bracket.

Good thing - its paused stream before the game. not even 7 min delay thing - view not connected to current game at all. Bad thing - live chat - it can be actually stand as "Communication during the match with people not involved in the match is strictly forbidden". So its not about cheating(its actually not), its about rules - formally rule was broken. So punishment should be, but how strong - is admins's choice (imho not so strong).

Both games are paused, meaning both (stream and actual game) have the same information about the map in that moment, even with the delay. He did that to gather information about the enemies positions, their actual networth or roshan time left, so must be hard punished for the unfair advantage.

@@afrizal8275 a referee/admin should be in the players’ room during the tournament, even during pauses. their job is to enforce rules and prevent stuff like this, or catch the act early, not be told by chatters watching the stream. of course it will have investigation but if it wasnt caught on stream by viewers, then what the heck are those referees doing inside the room. while what pure did is wrong and deserves punishment, the incompetence of the organizer not monitoring simple stuff like the apps opened on a players’ pc during a tournament is weird af. this is different from an evaluation of an ingame bug, this is a behaviour out of the game.

there is no intention on cheating, that punishment is too severe. The stream kept paused, played for a few seconds and closed and it happen at minute 9th in 100 minutes game.

I think it was a honest mistake as well , it doesn't look like he had intention of cheating but you should apply rules and punishment is right. Unless they ban pure for 5 years because of cheating (thats usually the sentence for cheating) it isn't too severe. You have to assume worst and disq. player in question and no doubt team they played against should get technical win because you you can't measure how much or how little they profited from cheating (intentional or not this behaviour falls under cheating as rules states.). Also i think this is bad on TO part as well just block other apps only let Dota and steam to open it can't be that hard and you should monitor the computers all the time if reddit didn't exposed it admins didn't even catch that. W33 also opened spotify which is again against the rules , that suggest TO didn't really informed players well enough.
