@matschaffer For mac, you can use SimpleSynth (a free, General MIDI synth). It uses the Apple DLS music device. For PC, I'm afraid that I'm not as hip as to what is freely available.

@matschaffer I think this is because AU Lab only accesses AU-format plugins (as opposed to VST, RTAS, or other format plugins). This can be confusing in that "vst" is often used as a common term for just "plugins" regardless of type. But, I think in this case it is specific. AU Lab is a great hidden gem for Mac (it is a lot like JACK).

If you are using objective-c, you may want to look into using libpd for easier integration with an objective-c project.

Hey thanks! Video 12 also got me curious about AU Lab for this. I downloaded the mda_piano vst, but I can't seem to get AU Lab to find it. You don't happen to know a good resource for AU Lab, do you? Thanks again!

Hi Prof. Hdez I was wondering, which movie was it you solved the problem with the lists playing the tunes once loaded? at the very end of this one you say you are going to address it in another one, and i cant find it

Hi there, great videos, really helpful! I just wanted to ask, I'm working on an installation piece for an exhibition and wanted to use PD as it seems to be able to do what I want. The only problem im having is that, the installation will use a custom MIDI interface connected to PD. The input from the MIDI device will be sporadic but when the user presses enter i want it to play back the input, sequenced and at a set tempo. Is this possible in anyway? Thank you and keep up the good work!

Is there any way i can send a file name to the open object? what i want is to be able to send a file from objective c to pd! i am using the readf~ object to play the .aiff files. I want to be able to send .aiff files to pd from objective c.

These videos are really awesome. But do you have any recommendations on a free soft synth? Or better yet something in Pd that acts like a polyphonic synth? Building up little osc~ arrays to make notes is getting a little cumbersome.

Sorry for stupid question, but somehow I can't create a Knob object. I am using Pd-Vanilla 64bit v 0.45-4 on Mac OSX. Do you have a clue what could be the problem? Thanks!
@cheetomoskeeto10 жыл бұрын
[knob] is a Pd-extended object. The entire series uses Pd-extended.

cheetomoskeeto oh, didn't work yesterday in pd-extended, then i downloaded the vanilla version and still nothing, but somehow today it works absolutely fine. thanks anyway :)
