The look of it got me feeling dizzy, but the sound itself and the "cloud" approach to the overall design is great. Inspiring!

Now this is what I call inspirational. Time for me to make a cup of tea and study this patch. Thank you

Great live coding session, it actually inspired me to try a few things out! Might be interesting to do something like this with the Organelle...

This turned out really sweet and makes me think I should just take a screenshot and start figuring out how you got it to sound like this..

listen, pd is an open source/free software language. the most of its community is literally interactive documentation ...just as nice as it sounds ;p

This is a wonderful demonstration. Thank you so much for sharing! Is there some theory or methodology behind how you built up the drones? For example, how did you come up with filtering the min'd phasor and pink noise and multiplying it with the oscillators (1:36), then adding the delay (2:44), then filtering and scaling one of the phasors to feed back into the delay (3:54), and so on? Is that a well-known method for building up droning sounds, or is that just your musical genius and experience with PureData?

Hi, thank's for your comment. This is all empirical, I'm familiar with most of the objects I used in this video (and the interaction between them) by playing with them in pd. At the beginning I used to patch almost randomly and see what sounds would come out, after just a few month of practice you can start to anticipate what it might sound like before you do (but you still get surprises, that's what's great with pd).
@seemikehack7 жыл бұрын
Awesome, thank you for the insight. I've been figuring that with time and exploration it will be as you say: the building blocks will turn into common abstractions will turn into instruments will turn into emergent compositions of a sort, everything just building on itself. As it is I'm still wrapping my head around properly producing and utilizing wavetables and figuring out how to implement some of the ideas in my head with respect to sequencing and randomization :) Thanks again for getting back to me!

I’ve messed with pure data in the past but stopped because of the annoying clicks I could never get rid of. Anyone have advice on getting rid of them? You can hear it clearly all over this video. Is it an envelope fix? Nothing worked for me.

Use the line object to ramp up amplitude over a small amount of time.

there is a way, very typified, you get a hip~ 5 before the dac~ . bc i assume you talk about this sort of dead simple practice on the video, because it happens in many other not so simple scenarios. cheers!

why does pink~ not show up on my pd?
@nascimbenthibault23227 жыл бұрын
I think it's because you're using Pd Vanilla, pink~ is part of the cyclone library that you can download easily with deken (just go to "help", "find externals" and type "cyclone" to find it).

Is it possible to get the patch... There is a lot of Click Where they come from ?
@nascimbenthibault23226 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry, as you can see at the end of the video I did not save this patch (but you can easilly make a screenshot and go from there). I think you're referring to the clicks that come from the two unfiltered phasors (until 6:00, before using the vcf~ )

Hi which version of Extended did you download? Tks
@nascimbenthibault23228 жыл бұрын
I think it was 0.43.4 but I switched to vanilla since extended is no longer updated and deken makes it really easy to install the externals you need on vanilla.
@SHELLAC858 жыл бұрын
ah ok thanks, was just noticing that objects like COUNTER were not showing up in my PD and thought I needed Extended. Didn't know about Deken, thanks :)

@nascimbenthibault23227 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry I didn't save it. But the point of this video is to show how I built it from nothing in 15 minutes. So I guess it wouldn't take long to rebuild it from here.

this is definitely what pd is not about, nice sound but it would really fit the attention it got better within other languages, maybe on max. this just ruins pd to its lowest.... its a shame really. you dont even seem to have used pd anymore later on if you get through your channel videos...all the Ks youve gotten all that what pd has lost. ... :( just irresponsible use, nothing that out of it but it hurts so much
