Thanks for this mini course. Could you please explain why the reaction of CaO+H20 increases the volume solid by 250%? I have done the calculation, considering the density of the materials (molecules), the molar mass g/mol and the stoichiometry (1 mol of CaO + 1 mol of Water to give 1 mol of Ca(OH)2) and the volume solid increase should be 100% or a bit more....
