The paper was good but that trig question was definitely the hardest in my opinion. I hate the fact that edexcel are making the second parts related to the first and you can’t do the second part without finding the constants in part A.

4:55 personally I don’t think this is good advice, skimming through questions without actually physically progressing through the paper is a waste of time, also if you see a question that looks tricky at a first glance it may put you off for easier questions and in general cause you to stress more and make silly mistakes in other questions where every mark is crucial

I find that briefly glancing at each question for less than 3 minutes total is useful as it gives me a general sense of what I'm up against and identify "This one is difficult, this one is easy etc"

I hear you. Skimming the questions shouldn't be taking too much time. Maybe 2-3 min tops. Just at the beginning of the exam. That's my idea of skimming.

I agree 100% with the timing it was almost impossible to process the context of the questions and to answer all the questions in time. I had leave a question out even though I knew how to do it due to timing. I was being tested more on time than my knowledge with maths.

5:37 Hit the nail on the head sir.! Even with more time / reduced questions people will show their level in their answers. No need to make it a speed game.

i messed up the trig question so bad but on average it wasnt a bad paper

Completely messed up the trig question, binomial question, and the contradiction. I got too nervous and lost a lot of marks, hopefully the applied paper will be better.

Decent but I still think paper 1 went better haha, lets just hope paper 3 goes the same

personally i think 2h is ample time and coming from experience when i started doing papers i wouldn’t even finish the paper within 2h. I’d have about 2 or 3 questions left but having done all the past papers (old spec and IAL) my timing really improved and in the exam for all 3 exams i had about half an hour remaining to go over and do the long mark questions again

My timing was fine what i think would mess people up which i used to do i would get the answer but because I know I make silly mistakes I go over my answer for too long even though it maybe right . Couldnt get the trig question proof right but didnt spend too long on it so just skipped it and finished the paper

Ah, I feel you. Just that meticulous nature of yours should be given some extra time, though. Just to double check your methods and smaller details in your answers

Do you think grade boundaries will be like 2018? Because a lot of people are saying they did well even though it was a hard paper so A* mignt be higher

In 2018 only furthermaths students sat that exam or people that studied the Alevel in one year so those grade boundaries are weird

@@H1289-h8o yeah I remember reading abt that but these papers this year seem to have been received very positively by most that’s why I’m thinking A* will be like 230
