🙋🏽‍♂️ Join me for a spirited drive in a Mercedes-AMG A35 4matic (2020 - pre current facelift) and look over my shoulder as we enjoy the car's sound, performance and grip. The open panoramic roof offers not only a fantastic view of the outside, but enhances the sound experience by a big margin. Pops, crackles and bangs become louder and more "metallic" and the big turbo can be heard compressing air at high pressure.
🎥 I've included some outside views that we filmed that same day to make this short, immersive driving experience even more enjoyable and gripping. See the car jump, hear how the car prepares to do a "race start" and fathom the ripping sound when doing late up shifts.
🎧 Be sure to wear headphones!
🕵️‍♂️ A little note for the keen reader: Comment a short message if you're seeing this, and you'll get a (really) good chance at some AMG merch that I'll be raffling off for the 200 subscriber special I'm planing to do.

They did actually. Significantly. Pops and bangs are noticeable reduced, but sound overall seems to be only slightly nerfed.

I don't deny it is great value for money and look absolutely stunning inside, but to see that this is now what we call "hot hatches" obviously this one may be a fastback but I mean the A35, A45, Golf R, S3 etc. There aren't many real hot hatches like back in the day in what I mean by that is * FWD *N/A *Cheap *Little to no safety modules to stop you feeling like you are on the edge of your ability And most importantly MANUAL Gearbox's

@@Lee-rf2ov Ahh, I see. Yeah, you're absolutely right. This would actually be a great topic to discuss in a video. The upside is that you can absolutely rip through winding roads without too much experience. This car is insanely beginner-friendly, safe and filled to the brim with "nanny" systems to keep you from hitting the ditch. No joke, I can safely "drift" this when it rains. Regarding the FWD feel, that's mostly not there, which I personally like, but I get why that would be something one would want. The only "hope" in that regard are the usual Asian manufactures, but even the new GR Toyota's don't match your description afaik.

@@babyamg Yeah I get what you mean, It's definitely a huge topic for discussion. First time I drove my Uncles S2000 when I was 18 I almost lost it in a shift from 1st to 2nd on harsh acceleration because I was to used to having a modern first car assisting me when abusing it

I'd not buy it as a daily driver - 19" rims and the sporty suspension make it a very harsh drive + the double clutch just isn't tuned for everyday (short) driving and is way to jerky for that. As a second car to have fun, I'd rate it 8.5 / 10. Curve speed is incredible, as well as the violent race start, but the HP / KG performance immediately suffers noticeably when you have passengers in the car.

@@babyamg oh really? As I’m only 20 this would be my only car, so you’re saying it isn’t good in that aspect?
@babyamg
@babyamg 6 ай бұрын
Absolutely. The A35 easily beats the competition from Audi and BMW in sporty, dynamic driving. But that makes it suffer the most from a "harsh ride". The AWD system works in your favour when cornering hard, but fails to handle simple every scenarios properly. Turn to mich when parking, and your front left/right wheel will start to "jump" because of the missing ratio difference on the front axis. You would't daily a GT3 RS, right? Same thing. You'd get a RWD Carrera. If you absolutely want to try and daily it, active suspension is a must, and I'd option the cheaper 18" rims with more "normal", "comfier" tires. You can find info on that online. For example, Pirelli PZeros are known to add to the harshness, but my A35 is specced purely for curve-performance, so comfort doesn't matter to me. I daily a diesel W205 C-Class, which blows the A out of the water in pretty much any category except infotainment. Do a proper test drive of at least 3 hours before going for it - but keep in mind to "reward" that dealer with a purchase later down the road.

Particulate filter in the exhaust. It’s bad for sound and some go ahead and „delete“ it by physically removing it and adjusting the cars software to the change.
