Kapeng Barako! Some several years ago it was hard to find barako. Some coffee tree diseases devastated Liberica coffee plantations...good to know it is on the way up in cultivation.

Ahh Barako. Potent stuff. Did you also try barako brewed the traditional way? i.e. Steeped in a pot until sediment settles at the bottom. Then carefully ladle coffee to your mug (carefully-- so that you don't agitate the sediment at the bottom)
@PureDetour

I didn't actually try it that way but Queenie explained the process to me. Next time, promise

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! Liberica must be what we call "BARAKO," I take it? That is delicious coffee if good beans roasted properly are used! Will see if I can purchase some of the Liberica here in the States! (Is it available here?)
@PureDetour
@PureDetour Жыл бұрын
To the best of my knowledge it is not available currently in the States. I know there was some shipments before the pandemic that were going all over the world, but I don't think they are doing it anymore. I will ask Queenie next time I speak with her

@@PureDetour - Gosh, thanks for the thoughtful reply! Hope there's a source of Queenie's coffee over here - but I imagine the price will be steep, seeing that it's so labor-intensive in its care and processing! Would that I could taste even the cup of coffee from the beans YOU had crushed! 😁

Had the opportunity to do the civet coffee when I was in Bali. Didn't feel comfortable showcasing the practices they use these days with the civets so opted not to participate. Cafe Ganin on the other hand is full of dedication and extremely hard work just to produce a little bit of product. Queenie is one of those people I will look back on and admire.
