To me Discovery is the greatest dance album of all time but Random Access Memories is the most important dance record of our generation because it came during a time where EDM was booming by young laptop producers. This album was a reflection and homage to where dance records all started and they knocked it out of the park I felt like I time travelled to a time where my parents just met each other.

just awesome! "how long, all summer"... no one ever said hurry up... most meticulous... lots of editing, feeding files back and forth... frequency analysis between reel changes w/ techs... playback vocals in a chamber... no recalls... have fun, experiment & make magic.

The mind-blowing part is the number of reel to reel tape used during those sessions!! probably a world record!!

Some of his mixes that don't get mentioned much, are the mixes he did on the first Jodeci album. I love the way he used reverb all over the ballads, Stay, Come and Talk to Me, Forever My Lady etc. Timeless records. Great video and thanks for your efforts

@@RodneyAllanPoe Weh weh cry me a river. There's people out there who can admire the album for what it is, and then there's people like you who have been hating on this album since 2013. Name a single song on RAM that was "mainstream" for the time except for the obvious lead singles. Even Get Lucky is a timeless bop; the guitar riffs, Pharrel's vocals, the beat change and vocoders around the 3 minute mark; it's a great song albeit overplayed. Werner's comment reeks of elitism.
