Rizz3n I hate..HATE the POP part added to this type of music. It's not pop. Does this sound like Taylor Swift in any way? Justin Timberlake? No. It's PUNK ROCK/Alternative. It's alternative punk hard rock to the core. Throw that POP punk name out the door!!
@Rizz3n9 жыл бұрын
This kind of music is nowhere near punk rock. Also I agree that the "pop" part is misleading for some kind of bands in this genre.

This is not my type of music. It's too pop-y. It's too catchy. It's a little young for me (I'm 50). It's not hard enough. But... I took my kids (they're 7 and 11) to see these guys in Atlanta at the Masquerade this past week. Blown away would be accurate to say how I felt about the performance these guys put on. Grateful would be a great word to describe how I feel about the graciousness and generosity of these guys, who allowed us side stage so the kids could see better, and interacted with both of my little guys during the show and came down and chatted them up after they were done. So the moral to this story is this: If you're withing five hours of these guys and can make it happen; do it. You will NOT regret it. 10/10 show. Sound was great, the light show was amazing, vocals were near-perfect, the energy coming from the stage was palpable, and the crowd ate it up with a spoon. No wonder they call themselves State Champs. So. Much. Win.

This probably isn't relevant but being who I am and coming from where I come from being into any type of rock music (such as punk rock, pop rock, pop punk, alternative etc) isn't really a huge thing. I'm from a very small town in Alabama and most people in my town listen to either country or hip hop (white people and black people). So growing up listening to bands I always stood out and people never really understood me and people also looked at me funny because not only was I into rock bands but I was a black girl who liked rock bands which where I'm from I guess isn't something people see often. I was picked on by some of my family. They would say things like I was trying to be white because I loved rock music which is ridiculous because no genre of music is for a specific race and gender. Some white kids would be shocked like they never seen a black person who was into rock music before..now that I'm older but sill very young (20) I don't really care much about what people think. I like what I like. My point is bands have helped me through a lot and despite what people think of me will always love them and rock music.
@ianh25279 жыл бұрын
cheri618 i feel you. i'm a non-white guy either so i'm expected to listen to hip-hop only. but this is my favorite type of music. although i never say i like rock music. i just go into specifics, so post-hardcore, pop punk, punk, etc.

You caught me in the right place at the right time So I'll just dive right in Say you've got a blank space in your right mind Well here's my second wind Oh, your idea of me blown away, away Something in the past tense didn't make sense for this to follow through What did you expect to happen? Were you mad then With nothing left to do? Oh, you're making me sick. What is this? Had we been drawn to close before? Because I dropped my forgiveness, it's lying face down on the floor I've got more secrets than you'll ever know Another year and you won't let it go Too many times I told myself to hold on But it's too late for me, now I'm as good as gone Funny how we go way back and we said that We wouldn't let this come between Everything and is it true that I could look past Memories and stay obscene? Oh, your idea of me blown away, away Something's telling me I never could have ruined everything you want in life Because you never put in effort, and the truth is you were never doing it right Oh, you're making me sick. What is this? Am I the one you can't ignore? Because I dropped my forgiveness, it's lying face down on the floor I've got more secrets than you'll ever know Another year and you won't let it go Too many times I told myself to hold on But it's too late for me, now I'm as good as gone It turns out I don't go down that easily You'll never really know what this means to me And no, it wasn't ever too much to hold But you stole your own self control It turns out I don't go down that easily You'll never really know what this means to me And no, it wasn't ever too much to hold so just know It turns out I don't go down that easily You'll never really know what this means to me And no, it wasn't ever too much to hold But you stole your own self control It turns out I don't go down that easily You'll never really know what this means to me And no, it wasn't ever too much to hold so just know I've got more secrets than you'll ever know Another year and you won't let it go Too many times I told myself to hold on But it's too late for me, now I'm as good as gone Not everybody wants an enemy Call me the culprit and that's all you'll see You were responsible for finding a way to catch on But it's too late for me, now I'm as good as gone
