Sleep Rapidly with Strong Rain and Rumbling Thunder | Find Peace, Sleep Sounds, Black Screen

It's 4:27 a.m. here in California and I just woke up to use the toilet, while I was up I sat down in front of my computer and read some of the posts on your site. It occurred to me that this whole rain-thing has been a part of my life since I was a kid. One of my most potent memories is from 1964 when I was nine years old in Okinawa: Out in the middle of our yard was a table with a cheese-cloth thrown over it, someone had slid a wash-tub under it (maybe me, I can't remember) and one evening, around supper-time a squall moved in and caught me in the yard, there was nowhere to go and I was going to go in, since it was time to eat anyway but instead I crawled under the table and into the wash-tub. With the cheese-cloth deflecting the rain and my body-heat gathering in the tub I drifted in the middle of the rain-storm like an orphan with nothing to comfort him but his own existence, it was glorious. Through the pattering of the rain I could hear my mother and sisters calling my name but I didn't answer, I just continued to drift, feeling safe and drowsy and separated from the world. Finally, the edge of the cheese-cloth lifted and my sister, Linda, was looking at me with her kind, relieved eyes saying: "There you are, we've been looking for you, it's time to eat. The fact that Linda was my favorite sister and I loved her as best a kid my age can was important to me and since I've grown to adult-hood I often return to that moment in my mind with a great feeling of gratitude and security and love, in my mind my sister had challenged the rainstorm to save me. Between my sister and the rhythm of the downpour and my feelings of relaxation and security the memory of that event has permanently etched itself into my memory and I may die with that experience guiding me home, who knows. Your creation is now part of those childhood memories and even now, just thinking about it and writing this post I feel a weight lifting off my shoulders: All I can think about is my bed and blankets and my family and for that I thank-you. There's more to share but for now I'm gathering myself to go back to bed, it's 5:14 and I need to go to the bank in the morning and pay bills, things I never thought about or even imagined 60 years ago. Okay, enough, again, thank-you, you are a wizard who rules the House Of Sleep and I appreciate you, I'll see you again tonight.

I’ve listened to this every single night for the past year when you uploaded it. I have an intense sleeping phobia and I was suggested to try mental conditioning with a specific sound in efforts to reprogram my brain into feeling safe when I need to sleep. I still struggle but I can finally fall asleep at night. Thank you

I HAVE to listen to the heavy rain and thunder to drift off to sleep EVERY NIGHT. Without it I toss and turn and sleep so lightly, then exhausted the next day. I love getting really good sound sleep… it makes for a nicer me the next day for sure… lol

This is so disappointing. 90% of these entries which advertise thunder along with rain have 1 second of thunder. Seems like false advertising.

Mhh, my recordings have true thunder. So it's definitely longer than one second. Keep in mind that you need to listen through good speakers to hear the full spectrum of thunder, especially in the lower frequencies. Cheap inbuild tv-speakers, smartphone speakers, etc. can't reproduce this sound.
