Sniper is a VERY positionally important hero. If you get out of position, you will be initiated on and killed, which really hurts your snowball. You'll need to purchase at least 1 survivability item to try to stay alive. I mostly recommend Shadow Blade, but you can adjust based on the enemy composition.
From there pick up damage items like Desolator, or Daedalus, and move into late game items based on how things are going.

Necrolyte's ult only prevents buyback if he has an Agh's. The general change to his ult (with or without Agh's) was that the kill is always credited to him if the enemy dies under under the scythe, even if someone else gets the last hit before Necrolyte's damage applies. This is apparently in order for him to proc Sadist, and likely something to do with the Agh's buyback prevention as well. PS. You can either press Stop or Hold Postion depending on your hotkeys. It's automatically set to S and H (from the warcraft 3 hotkeys) but you can adjust them in the menu. It requires a little bit of skill to stop your casts but if you learn to do it you can fake people out, time better, or get a better area for the cast. Really useful for Lina, Leshrac and others with a cast time on their spells/skillshots/stuns.

You can shrapnel creeps from afar to push. You can shrapnel towers from afar to push. T1 tower don't have backdoor protection, which means you can cast Shrapnel every cooldown to push quite fast.

Yeah it does. The key with sniper is positioning, you need to be sure to carry a TP and just switch to a different area to farm when you start to feel vunerable. The SB allows you to escape and initiate, and once you have lothars and skadi you can initiate and slow, making you a super effective ganker. I would never recommend sniper in a high level game, but if you random him that is the build I reccomend. You can go midas if you have trouble farming it.

The ring always provides the buff to heros, when active, it also works on creeps, which pushes the lane

Just wanted to let you know, Purge, Phase Boots will actually give you more DPS than Treads in 95% of situations. It's only in extreme late game that the attack speed from Treads gives you more DPS than the flat damage from Phase Boots. The real question when picking between Treads and Phases is whether you want mobility or HP.

I dont know how many comments you read i just wanted to say thank you for the videos and that i feel like i learn allot more from the post commentary and i know they take longer but i appreciate it allot but i get so sad every time you talk about death prophet and sniper they we'r the first two heroes and still my favorites i played I feel my low skill bracket every time you mention them and now i'm going to cry myself too sleep while looking at pictures of death prophet

It's the same as Basileus. Turning it on and off toggles whether it affects your creeps or not. It always affects you and your allies.

Thank you for saying that Desalator is core on Sniper! I've tried telling people this before and they just laugh me off. It helps him out with farm so much and just the mere sight of Desalator shots has sent people running in the matches I've played. After that I usually go for one of the following: Butterfly, Daedalus, or Satanic. Usually i'll have shadow blade in there as well. Thanks for the video though, I have some ideas I want to try now!

he was safelane. Just because he's solo doesn't make it the "suicide lane": that's the term specifically for soloing the offlane. In this case, he's the 1 role, i.e. the hero farming safelane. You could say Mag was the 2 role and Morph the 3 role, but of course Morph doesn't really play that way. However your checklist still applies, it's just a lot easier to move down the list while in the safelane.

You can cast the Shrapnel out of fog, basically pushing down a tower while never appearing in enemy vision. For being fast you get obviously the 30% slow, and I also build phase boots for this.

mid is a lane where you get most experience and it has a centralized position. because of those 2 properties, heroes that are both great gankers and get good advantage from 2 or 3 levels more. good examples are Magnus, Queen of Pain, Invoker, etc.

That is if you have a ton of farm. He is level and item dependent and can't contribute till mid to late game. If you are fighting against high level players, they won't let you get the farm easily and they would just get a pipe or individual cloaks to negate some of the damage before they counter-initiate you.

My argument with sniper treads is that you will likely wont be getting off alot of shots insucession. With phase you gain the ability to both chase and escape while maintaining a potable consistent damage rather than variable.

yeah lots of people do and i agree its good and all its just getting eb lets you have such a big impact in mid game instead of waiting until the 30 minute mark or so to be effective. in the mid game most all carries are squishy enough for you to instakill and take them out of the fight immediately witch hurts their team alot and keeps the other carry from snowballing at all. eb rush is less reliable i would say but it can help you snowball out of controll. i go eb-linkens-manta

I haven't watched the vid yet so I don't know which bit you mean, but it's turned off during lane phase because you don't want to push. (Aquila/Basilus gives +2 armour to all your creeps if it's on, so the wave pushes to the enemy tower, making it less safe for you)

I don't know what that Jakiro was thinking, leaving him alone for so long. It stands to sense that if you leave a melee hero in lane against a ranged hero he's gonna get harassed to hell and back - especially Sniper, who is more or less the archetypal right-click hero.

I had a really fun Sniper game where I went mid, I got Phase Wand Shadowblade and then I went for an Orchid. (I skipped shrapnel and went stats to help my low hp) I really like orchid on Sniper for the attack speed and mana regen which lets you spam your ult a lot more and the silence is always useful (btw Sniper ult is super good imo, borderline OP, it's like a high range finger of death). Then I got a lot of kills (thanks to assassinate) and made a Skadi cuz they had a Naix. Super fun build.

You may still be playing on 20 hero limited pool. Look under the find match button, there should be 3 kinds of matchmaking settings.The left one is what you want to change to all pick, so you can always get the hero you want (unless someone chose him first, that could also be your problem), its also the most popular mode (faster match searching). it's impressive how Purge should be in a quite high-skilled bracket for public games, but then he almost always plays so damn easy lanes like this one. How does the enemy-team not come up with the idea to gank a solo sniper?!

If you check other games he played, you really can't say the enemies are doing a great job giving him a hard time. I'm not saying he's a bad player, but I also don't see him being challenged all to hart most of the times. I might be wrong, but that's what I felt watching many of his games. There might be others too of course, I guess.

Furthermore I really don't see why Manta isn't considered absolutely essential as it gives such an insane amount of survivability. More movespeed, more stats, and a way to dispel dust. Shadowblade + deso just makes you into a glass cannon and if you had gotten Phase like you said you frequently do you'd be an insanely fragile glass cannon.

Their team had a Magnus, which is arguably a way better solo-mid hero. He also would've been up against a warlock which could harass him quite easily, plus getting ganked in mid is just easier. Sniper is actually a better safe-lane farmer, but in this game his allies went a tri-lane in the offlane so sniper could get solo exp. In pubs this almost never happens so the only place a sniper can get solo exp is in mid.

I personally get Manta's Yasha completed before picking up Daedalus/Desolator. I never skip Manta on him because if the match ever enters into late game you need the stats it provides to stay alive.

talking about the move+atk+move+atk+move+atk? if so, it's right clicking the ground then right clicking the creep (or pressing attack -- hotkey preset is 'A') then repeat i THINK it speeds up your auto attack, not sure, but it really seems so

This game is also a good example of how it screws over the guy in a lane when his teammate sucks EXP early and then leaves. Jakiro didn't do PA any favors this game.

Not really as Purge stated a single positioning error will cause a death as sniper and early game that can mean continuous ganks following that death. Sniper needs to be played super careful with alot of reading the enemy's aggressiveness and position otherwise you die very easily compared to most other agi carries who have often have decent escapes.

For sniper, should you get attack speed or damage items? It seems like attack speed would be better since it would give you more overall Dps and also let you get more headshots.

sniper is the definition of glass cannon in video games.

At it's core it's building on an early advantage. Uh...For example, say Phantom Assassin with some luck and good support scores a double kill in her lane. She has more experience and more gold, which she uses to buy a better item. Using that better item, she kills someone else, once again gaining more XP and gold, which she uses to get an even better item, which she uses to kill, and so on and so forth.

It doesn't push the creep wave when it's off. If it's on your creeps will get bonus armor and the wave will constantly push. I think Purge explained this in a few of his videos and even his guide "Welcome to Dota, You suck !"

You'll have to take into account the fact the more attack speed you have, the more times headshot will proc in a given amount of time. Not to say phase is bad on Sniper though

Scan the entire forest for your possible presence perhaps? Seriously, all it really takes is one death prophet with ultimate and they're gonna find you and tear you to pieces. I'm not going to deny that shrapnel has its uses, but I don't think it's a very good tool for invisible attacks, especially since you can only use it so many times before someone notices. (If it works in the first place of course.)

110 cs at 25 minutes is low for a carry. at higher levels you generally see around 150 at that mark, maybe more depending on lanes/pressure etc.

DotA 2 doesn't match you depending on wins, there's an internal score we can't see that it matches us on; and the longer it takes to find a game the bigger the skill difference is allowed to be between both teams. Also wins don't mean anything either, for all we know they could be 1000 wins and 2000 losses while you are 200 wins but at least you only have 160 losses or something.

That's great in a 1 v 1 situation, but generally that's a really stupid idea past the laning stage unless they have five melee heroes, no disables and no blink daggers or force staves.

Getting stronger and stronger. Once you got some items / levels, killing should be much easier. With the gold / levels from those kills, killing is easier again. Basically the snowball effect means that your advantages give more advantages ;)

personally I preffer S&Y - skadi - helm of the dom for sniper, makes him slightly tanky, with options to upgrade into halberd-manta or just leave sn6 as is and go for dead and mkb, quite open build, downside is that you dont have the high damage/shot, but you make up for that with the extreme attackspeed you get, that coupled with the 2slows and headshots, make him just silly. Requires quite abit more farm tho

It's debatable if Sniper is an easy hero, he's super easy to gank owing to his low movement speed, health and no escapes which is why most people compensate with a shadowblade and even then some cheap detection will nullify that expensive investment. Imo probably the most difficult thing about playing Sniper is avoiding getting shit on (very easily I might add) in the early game then the rest of the game should be sitting in the back and dishing out damage..

kind of depends on the heros chosen if u think your opp reach you too easily,getting helm of dom is prefered over deso.because when u get deso u hit hard,but you are soft.i won complete satanic instantly,prob helm,manta,maybe even butter then satanic?it really comes down to the heros in game.

you should turn off most auras early game so the lane doesnt push. basileus is one of the most common aura items and you should turn it off otherwise your creeps get more armor. thats also wht skeleton king doesnt upgrade his lifesteal aura early game

well getting an eb is no harder than rushing a radience on some other hero. but yes if you get zoned out in lane then its going to be much harder to get but most of the time you should be able to get it and then you can roam and istakill supports. and even if everyone has a cloak you will still murder them. it just does too much damage
