Yes. They also see their kids as part of themself. Part of the reason my dad is angry I am gay is because he sees it as him being gay.

@@n0etic_f0x I think he's more into the whole "continue the bloodline, carry the family legacy" thing since he's the only of his male siblings to have a child - and a male child - so I'm literally the "last hope" to continue his family's name, so me being bi means I might fall in love with a guy instead of a breedable woman, and if I'm a girl then I'll end up dropping my "maiden name" if I get married (and will [did] lose the capacity to have biological children), than he is into the "You are a reflection of me therefore if you gay then me gay" but that's definitely also a factor considering how much he emphasized how my actions and my life would reflect onto him.

I'm sorry "abstain from dating until marriage" If you're abstaining from dating, how do you decide who to marry? Do you get assigned a husband by your dad and/or church? Do you have to enter a lotto? Do you just have to pick blindly based on who seems less likely to beat you? Also, does this mean that you _are_ allowed to date once you're married...? Sounds like a great recipe for divorce, personally. And if divorce is off the table, then I guess there's no other option then to be miserable or to accidentally put a little extra arsenic in the soup.

That first one. It all stems from when marriages were just business transactions. If a child doesn't date anyone you don't have to worry about them not agreeing with your decision for their partner. Since they don't know any better. And you avoid the "divorce issue" by just not allowing divorces. Everyone wins... in a "everyone needs to suffer the christian way" kind of "winning". Total misery.

Jim Bob Duggar is a great example of what conservatives want for their kids, especially their daughters. He basically asks his daughters' potential dates questions before hand. Like I don't even know what the questions are but they must be very invasive.The guys he picks are always from the same cult they're a part of too. Also Jim Bob and the Duggars don't even "date" they "court". And they are not even allowed to have a full chest to chest hug, only side hugs, oh and can't forget that the couple can't even be alone during the "courting" they have to have a chaperone, either one of the siblings or Jim Bob and Michelle. Look up the Duggars and their Quiverful cult and you'll see more into the world of those kinds of people.

How Satanic is Joe Biden? Why does human will lack any semblance of value? It is not that direct but it is what they mean.

They’ve always been an unfortunate part of the hobby, but they’re an old, crusty, ineffectual breed that’s thankfully dying out en masse. Not quickly enough, but tabletop’s just gonna keep on getting more progressive and they’re gonna be pushed further and further to the margins until they give up and jump ship from a community that doesn’t want to put up with their whiny self-centered bullshit anymore. Or they all go play FATAL, which they can totally have to themselves.

If you want your kids to make good decisions don't be so controlling over their sexuality like this. Educate them on it but don't be a control freak. You will literally reverse psychology them into doing the thing you don't want them to do. I stayed a virgin despite having 2 girlfriends well up into my 20's because my parents backed off and let me be and because I was educated.

Yeah that tracks. My dad is still mad at me for being gay and I am still a bit of a whore even though I am almost 38. Is it out of spite? I mean that is not the main factor but it does contribute.
