For situation #2 I really don't think that marriage is the answer. Marriage would be a temporary fix to the sexual temptations; however, it won't fix any underlying issues. There needs to boundaries and a level of respect for both of them to care about their partners purity. Rushing into marriage just to have sex will only cause more problems down the road. If lust is leading you through life, it will just lead you into deeper sins later on down the road.

#1: I absolutely tried to change my husband and grow his faith for him. Obviously didn't work, and he was really only going through the motions bc he knew it was important to me. I changed my method, stopped trying to change him, and focused on MY relationship with God. I prayed for him privately, and never stopped. The Bible says so so so many times, you reap what you sow. And it's so true. 1-1.5 years later, he now asks me if we want to go to church 🙏 He had to want it for himself for it to really mean anything to his heart.

Yeah this is so true especially your last sentence. He has to want it for himself and you have to trust that God's got him. All you can do is pray and be patient. The way you described it reminds me of the movie War Room... same thing happened in that film where the wife had to pray and trust God with her husband.

So wonderful to hear testimonies like this. So often we hear about how dangerous being unequally yoked in marriage is, which has been so so discouraging to hear. Thank you for sharing. Yes, being unequally yoked can be dangerous but I truly believe in some circumstances for some people, we are brought together with someone who doesn’t know God for His greater purpose, so they can see His light, too 💗
@KizNic3 жыл бұрын
Yup @@emiliamontalbano3643 . Once God sends you there, and He has to send you there, it can apply in that sense. But of course it is not for us to go marry someone who is unequally yoked just to change him or help him see the light. Most of the times God does not God call us to that. This is different, however, from inviting and bringing someone you may like (who may not know the Lord) to church. You are not committed to this person, it's not your responsibility to ensure he accepts God but, because you care about him, you want the best so you invite him to church. (Just making this practical). I hope though that you are no longer discouraged by the verse. Not being unequally yoked is not meant to discourage but to protect and guide us. It's not a form of happiness God is taking away from us, it is Him ensuring joy.
@KizNic3 жыл бұрын
(Following on from my comment above) So yes, it is dangerous if you are unequally yoked. However! God is redeeming and loving. If you do end up in a relationship (friendship or marriage) that is unequally yoked, God will tell you what to do. You may end up unequally yoked in different ways too. Some people have been deceived (I am thankful for sight). Some didn't even know about unequal yoking (so I am thankful for knowing and understanding the Word). Some have been tempted (I am thankful for self-control). And even within the Church you can be unequally yoked - God has a certain person in mind for you and you just have a relationship with another (I thank God for prophetic capacity). But whatever the way, willingly or unknowingly, and whatever the type of relationship, friendship or marriage, whatever the stage of the relationship, together for 2 months or for 10 years, God guides you. We just have to do our part and not set ourselves up for it. We obey and trust, and God guides and protects.

For solution #2! My boyfriend and I struggled with sexual sin and would fall every single weekend (we did not sleep together). It was really weighing heavy on our hearts and we knew something had to be done. We read an awesome article about fasting from one another. We decided we would do a two week fast to refocus on the Lord and to pray for his guidance. It was LIFE CHANGING and 100% worth it. Our hearts are now set on honoring him through purity. RESISTING sexual temptation should push us to marriage, but constantly falling to it should make us STOP and think if this is what the Lord truly wants for us. It is difficult but worth it to honor the Lord!

Situation #5 Girl, I’m literally in that same situation, I was seeing this guy that was so confusing, and ultimately playing with my emotions. Didn’t have peace about it whatsoever. I asked God to take him out of my life, and he ended up revealing his true colors to me, and it made my decision so incredibly easy and clear for me to cut things off immediately. I confronted him about everything, told him I needed to move on with my life, asked God for forgiveness for walking down a dark path with him. I also prayed that he removes any attachment to this person, and he has completely. He has given me this peace in my heart these past few weeks that I can’t even understand. So in conclusion, I would cut off this person completely, maybe even consider moving jobs if possible, and truly asking the Lord to remove any attraction to this person, because He can do anything if you trust Him! God bless you girl, never stop trusting the Lord!

Situation 2: I think that something that wasn’t addressed in the answer is that lust is an issue of the heart as well as an issue of self control. The question you have to ask yourselves is “why do we no longer hold on to this standard when we are together? Why do we follow our fleshy desires over the word when we get together?” I think you have to do a self check about why being together makes you fall consistently, when if this person was God’s best for you they should be pushing you closer to God, not allowing for u to fall sexually. I think another question he would have to ask himself is does he really value his future wife’s purity.? Do you guys even know the severity of walking in impure paths? These are more important than the act of falling sexually, but falling sexually shows that there may be some inconsistencies in ur thoughts about purity and the importance of it biblically. Getting married would allow u to have sex, but it does not fix the issues about purity and lust, marriage and sex doesn’t cure a lustful heart, God does.

Pray over and watch God place the man of your dreams in your life That’s what God did to me and gurl be patient and cling to God because you’re both being prepared right now and the right ones comin!!!! - ask God to reveal to you all the negatives that you don’t see about this guy and to guard your heart above all else! Yes this is so true! Pray against clouded judgment and pray for clarity to see this guy for who he is. And it's important to govern your thoughts! He might be in a really wounded place emotionally, or just really struggling to be considerate of others in relationships, and that is NOT something you want to jump into if he isn't surrendering those negative things to God. The idea of someone is pretty great until you realize dating them means personally experiencing all their flaws too ... And if his flaws are red flags when y'all aren't even dating, dating will only make them stand out more. Not saying he's a bad person, bc most of the time it's just inner brokenness that causes people to treat others unkindly, but I am saying sometimes it helps to think practically of the long term. The heart is fickle and will latch on to people all day, but that doesn't mean we have to be dragged around by said heart feelings.

Also! It's possible that Girl #5 idolizes romance too much! I realized that with a guy who's been in my life for the past couple of years; there's been so many coincidental encounters and because I liked him I thought it was a sign romantically, but after a period of surrendering my love of romance to God, realized it's very possible that the coincidences were really God orchestrating opportunities for him to encounter the unconditional love and healing of God through me, completely unrelated to romantic things. And because we share the same career interests, I realized it's possible that God just wants us to know each other for future networking purposes, not for romantic things. It's all about God's perspective!

I’m not sure I can answer that. My husband isn’t a believer but everyday I pray on my hands and knees for him to follow God. I also have some more advice on fornication. That feeling the woman gets when we’re having sex that spiritual connection you feel to the person is only meant for marriage. It makes you look at them with love and googly eyes right? They’re always on your mind. It’s called a soul tie. And we’re only supposed to create GODLY soul ties. Men and woman have something in their brain and you’ll have to look it up because I can’t think of it off the top of my head but there’s this thing in our brains, and women have more than men and it’s what we call “soul ties” why women get so hurt after breaking up with someone with someone after they’ve had sex with them is because it’s a spiritual connection you created with them a LITERAL bond that you can’t stop from happening the attachment feelings and god only wants to create those in marriage because he wants to protect our hearts and have them secure. It’s not some oh you’re gonna go to hell if you have sex thing which is how almost everyone sees it, no it’s not that. God really cares about you and he wants your soul to avoid HURT he wants you to be happy and content. Example : when I lost my virginity to this guy like 4 years ago I thought he was the best person in the world and that we’d work out, and then we broke up and Iayed in bed and cried for like half a year. That’s what I get for having sex outside of marriage and disobeying God. He doesn’t want you to EVER feel that way. That’s why we wait til marriage

I just want to say for anyone who’s either not Christian or doesn’t feel worthy after reading things like this - having sex is a natural part of life. Do not feel bad ❤️ You are loved and no one should be judging you on being human, having sex, loving others, anything!! Do what makes YOU happy.

@@EllieDaisy Sexual immorality (which is a sexual experience outside of the confines that God has made for it) will give fleeting satisfaction, that’s for sure. But what about the consequences? The ungodly soul ties, the spiritual death and disconnection from the Holy Spirit of God, pregnancies outside of the covenant of marriage which are also often attempted to be solved by the other sin called abortion? Sin has consequences and God did not sacrifice His only begotten Son Jesus so we can do what makes us happy. Truth is, we are called to be holy, set-apart, so that through looking more like Christ and obeying God that we might experience true happiness. Sex is the most enjoyable when in marriage and while we are in the will of God.

Situation 2: My first thought was that this is a heart issue so I would recommend a change in perspective. Spend time with the Lord in prayer and in His word to find out why He created this standard. It changes your perspective on how to honour it. The bible also calls us to flee from temptation so it’s better to understand the underlying principle because the ‘face’ of the temptation can change. May God strengthen you!
@ariw97903 жыл бұрын
Situation 3: First, all that Kian said was highly advisable. As humans we always try to seek justification with those around us, but even if we do everything God asks of us there will still be someone saying we’re not right with God. So trusting your feelings and the opinions of those around you, will ultimately lead to the devil having a way in to condemn you. Seek God’s approval first, push all opinions out of your head and like Kian said, search the scriptures for God’s word on it. I do just also want to add that God only sees marriage as a relationship because of the covenant He created with marriage, so when we aren’t married He views us as separate people and we aren’t under that same covenant of Jesus-Man-Wife-Child. So when you said you guys are basically already a family and he is now your daughter’s dad, just know that with how God designed His covenant, things as they are, are out of order. But just know that God wont condemn you and make you feel horrible about it, He will only bring light and open your eyes with His word! :)

Situation 3: as Christians, we are called to speak the truth in love to other Christians. This includes accountability when we see someone living in a way that may not be honoring God. Especially for newer believers. Sinning doesn’t mean you’re going to hell, but even though you feel happy doesn’t mean you’re not living disobedient to God. The Bible doesn’t directly speak on living together before marriage, but it also doesn’t directly address a lot of things we shouldn’t do. It is, however, implied. There are many great articles and scriptures addressing this. Even if you’re not having sex, living alone together exemplifies marriage without that sacred covenant made under God. It is acting as though you are married without taking that vow. It can cause confusion to unbelievers, and potentially be a stumbling block to others. There is so much to be said on this topic and it is not any easy one, but God’s word and other resources can help us to pursue His best for us, even when it may not feel like the best. Praying for you and your family 💕

And I think what you said about speaking about the guy with all your friends it’s key to not forgetting and letting go of the fantasy and the attachment, so I’ll be using that next time the topic comes to surface!! Thank you very much!! And to the girl in the situation #5 I would tell you, when people show you who they really are, please believe them. I think you yourself have the answer to your problem, you’ve said he’s not the answer to your prayers, you’ve said you have built imaginary strings or attachments in your hearts, so you know already, now is a matter of accepting it, and not being afraid of letting go of the “excitement” of the idea and moving on. Appreciate you sharing this, especially the book recommendation to pray for your husband. I could really use some help in that area of knowing how to pray for him in all areas. This has been so helpful to me! I also truly appreciate that you turn people to the word rather than feelings because I know myself can get caught up on my feelings rather than going to His word. Thank you for sharing your wisdom! I am a new subscriber for sure!!!

Another phenomenal book about wives with a biblical perspective is The Excellent Wife by Martha Peace. Having read it, I highly recommend!! It's filled with practical advice, covers almost every topic, and is filled with Scripture. There's also a study guide that goes along with it :)

For situation #3-God calls us to admonish one another in love. The friend mentioned may be trying to do this. Sometimes we take that as judgement instead of wise people pointing out truth to us. Get wise counsel. Read scriptures. And Dont listen to your heart as it is deceitful above all else. (That is clear all over the proverbs) God has a very clear plan laid out in the bible for how a family should come together and he doesnt make exceptions.

On #1 agree all you said, but with her question is it my place to speak up on things, I would say with blatant sin if he claims to be a Christian than for SURE. And once you do, then don’t keep doing it. But with blatant sin like the lords name in vain I’d for sure call it out with scripture at least once. 😭🙏🏼🙏🏼

For situation number 3 I just wanted to say that we are saved by believing that Jesus died for us and accepting the free gift of salvation. Our works do not save us, whatever we do. Our salvation comes from Jesus alone, His free gift for us! I agree with what Kian said about the difference between condemnation and conviction. One is healthy, the other one is not. I, too, agree that you should pray- talk to God, tell Him how you feel towards your friend, towards your partner. God already knows your thoughts, so be honest, be you. He can handle it and He won't condemn you for it. Then ask Him about the whole of your situation. He is so willing to listen AND to talk to you. He loves you. He can't wait to show you His thoughts and love. I find reading the Bible, listening to worship music a great way to grow in your faith and be in communion with God. Also- COMMUNITY. This is so important. Find a christian community to be a part of. Pray (I'll also pray) that God will lead you to find one:) Hope this is helpful!

Absolutely agree and Romans 8:1 NKJV says “There is therefore now no condemnation known to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the spirit.” And the best way to grow with God is to read His Holy Word and talk to Him. Asking God about a situation is so important too!! One way to know what God is telling you is that it will always line up with His Word!! If you think God is telling you something that doesn’t line up with His Word ITS NOT GOD!! If you feel rushed or pushed into something ITS NOT GOD!! Seek God and His Kingdom for ALL ANSWERS AND QUESTIONS!!

if you have time, and if you haven't yet; read _james 2:14-26_ beautiful passage ☺ We have been completely justified through the Messiah, which leaves us with the responsibility of 'being perfect as He is perfect', not to use 'our freedom in the Messiah as an opportunity to sin' (or an excuse to sin) hope that sense 🙈

#3- not advice but the friend that told her she was going to hell was wrong. If she has truly accepted Christ, then nothing can separate her from God. We all sin in one way or another, but that has no bearing on our eternity if we truly believe. This person has not grown up in the church and still has a lot to learn about what the Christian life should look like. You were right telling her to pray and read Scripture so she can be transformed. If she is coming from a background that doesn’t view sex before marriage as wrong, then she doesn’t know. Her friend is right to point it out, but needs to do so in a kind and gentle manner.
@chloewilliamson81203 жыл бұрын
She needs only to ask forgiveness and truly repent which means to never partake in those sins again. And if she doesn’t come from a background and doesn’t know that sex before marriage is against God then she canning be held accountable for it but is she doesn’t after she knows then she has sinned. I agree with you about nothing separating us from the LOVE of God but the more a person sins the further and further they get away from God. God cannot look open sin so until a person repents and turns away from their sins they cannot have a true relationship with God. Now we all fall short of the Glory of God and we are all going to sin that’s what Jesus was for A. So we can repent and not have to pay the price of sin and B. to have a High Priest that is our advocate. We must repent from our sins as soon as we sin so we can maintain our walk with God and Jesus.

#1 Although it is not our responsibility to change our hubbies, it is okay to keep them accountable. Cursing in front of the baby is a no and as a wife and a mom you can absolutely correct that behavior. When it comes to his spiritual life... if he is saying he is praying and getting with God the last thing you want is to question the man you vowed to trust. A great idea would be to invite him in to pray with you and do devotionals together to ensure he is getting some Jesus time hehe (; Kian's answer was awesome, I just wanted to chime in! I hope this helps

Situation n.3, about feeling judged by friends.. it's not always easy to find the perfect way to be close and support friends, we sometimes fail because we, as humans, tend to be judgemental! If they're good friends, probably they have our best interest at heart and they just come at us the wrong way! it's hard on both sides.. I would suggest to sort things out with them, and pray together to understand what God is asking to both of you! I know it's not easy though..

It gave me a new life for 4-5 years. A not easy but still the most beautiful meaningful life filled life.. until the last year when I started going to sin out of discouragement. Now idk what to do.

Situation #3: Since she’s new in this walk! My advice would be to surrender all your troubles worries to God, because he knows best! As for the situation you are in, I would say getting married would be a drastic decision don’t feel pressured because you are being judged! But do know that God sees everything and you want to honor him with your being, spirit, soul and body (1 Thessalonians 5:23). You accepted God to step away from your humanly desires and take your cross and follow him and he will do.

About situation 2 : in France we make the difference between chastity and abstinence (idk the word in english, not having sex ?) Anyway the point is that, when you're engaged, you have to be chaste but also not have sex, because it's different. You have to be chaste ALSO when you're married, even when you have sex ! It's all in the way you consider the other ans your physical interactions. Even when you're married, sex can't be selfish, for your own passions. So I don't see getting married right now as a good option if you have not learned how to be chaste. So yeah, don't be alone, learn the value of tenderness ! Also, know the cues, the one that are telling you you are going too far. Trust yourself and don't think you will hurt the other's feeling if you say "stop" while you're kissing or whatever ; if you have spoken about it with the other then it should be alright ! And if you're alone and you feel like you're gonna be too close, offer the other to pray ? You can do this 💪💪 and please pay attention to chastity even in marriage ! I'm struggling with it myself but it's a beautiful way. (I'm engaged so I feel you sistah, we've been together for more than 2 years and there's still 8 months to go. But I really don't want to see my wedding day as the "at laaaast let's have sex" day.) Oh also, natural family planning is a great way to learn chastity because it gives sex it's full meaning BUT don't do it if you don't have a stable situation, obviously
