Purnima Shrestha, Nepali photojournalist.
Ms. Shrestha is recognized as the fastest Nepali woman to expedite all 8000+ meters mountains, including Mount Everest. As a climber, photographer, and storyteller, she has played an important role in bringing the urgency of climate change in the Himalayas to the forefront of global attention. She is contributor to the New York Times as well.
Journalists, scientists, artists, activists and other voices working on environmental issues were invited to send video messages for World Press Freedom Day 2024. Some of the messages were screened in the World Press Freedom Day global Conference "Press for the Planet" on 2 -4 May in Santiago, Chile.
