I understood Purple's backstory as his father training him ever since he was a child, but he never seems to reach his father's standards and was considered weak. The mother didn't support the way the father treats Purple, which eventually led to their separation. After Purple's mother died, he chased after his father in an attempt to prove him wrong and that he is strong, forsaking everyone else in the process. First was through the achievement of obtaining the dragon egg, and the other is ruling the Minecraft world with King. Regardless, the animation is absolutely bonkers and defo reached a brand new height. Excited for the final battle/episode of the season!

his father didn’t actually beat him up, he was just training him to be strong but since pink thought this was too harsh, dark blue left them by themselves, thinking his family was weak after that, pink died and purple still wanted is father to be proud so he tried to prove his father wrong by ruling villages, obtaining the dragon egg, and helping king get the minecraft block

What Purple’s story I think is: Purple’s mom and dad fell in love and had him. The dad always wanted to train Purple to fight, so he could be prepared for the outside world…but Purple didn’t want to and he hid from him. This made the dad furious and he left home for good. Purple then had to take care of his mom, but she died as she got older. Purple was alone, and he decided to try to look for his dad and start over. Purple retrieved the dragon egg, thinking it would have impressed the dad, but then Purple was forced to give it up. This made Purple even sadder but yet more determined to try to impress his father. But he was at the start line again. Then he met King Orange, and he looks to him like a father figure. Purple thought King would help him and they would share the Minecraft icon, but then he met the rainbow stickmen, who were trying to defeat King. Purple decided to impress King since he failed to do with his dad, and he betrayed the stickmen to retrieve the Minecraft icon for King. But then Green, seen here, escaped from his cell and he tried to stop Purple in this episode. Purple had given everything to impress the King, but when the time had come, King only took the Icon, betraying Purple just like the father had did. Purple then came to his conclusions that he would never impress anyone, doomed to repeat the same cycle for eternity. But Green forces the dark side out of him and both of them go on to defeat the King…who will triumph?

My personal canon states that although though Purple's father was abusive, he still wanted him to be proud of him. Eventually, his father departed, and soon after, either his mother passed away from illness or from grief, or she simply passed away from a disease. Purple thereafter encountered Orange King, whom he viewed as a second father figure and someone he wanted to make proud until, of course, Orange King betrayed him. Until Green spoke to him, perhaps saying something along the lines of "don't let others choose who you are," that was at least my head cannon for the time being. He still wanted to somehow make both his father and Orange King proud.

Purple's back story was actually because his dad was training him, but purple kept failing so the dad eventually left him and his mo., His mom died, so he tried to find his dad, but all of these problems were keeping him from his dad, including red, green, blue, yellow, and SC. He was once so close to his dad, but the last obstacle was king orange, and unfortunately, king orange betrayed him and left him all the way back down to the starting point.(read the third comment because it makes more sense) I have a theory: everytime purple is very close to his dad, he has things that have potential, like getting the ender dragon egg as a worthy enough trophy that might impress his dad but then he gave it back which made him fall all the way back down, and also the creative block that gives purple power. Until king orange stole the creative block from purple, making purple fall all the way back down again.

i see more like this: purples father tried to train his purple, he wanted purple to be more than purple could be and when purple kept falling short, purples dad berated him for it. In his eyes purple was never good enough for him, and when purples mom stepped in the dad got mad at her too, and eventually left out of disappointment in purple, when purples mom died his father was all he had left, and because of purples upbringing, it made him strive for power and perfection, but most importantly recognition from his father, everything purple did was to try to be good enough for his fathers love, but it was never enough, eventually once king orange came into play, purple saw king orange as another form of father figure in a way, hence king orange being in the place of where on the pedestal, purple betrayed all his new friends for this new person to impress, someone to be good enough for, and so purple crushed all in his way to try to be good enough for king orange, and once king orange betrayed him, he fell into a pit of despair, again feeling like he fell short of being good enough, and by the time purple realized everything he had done was for nothing he felt it was too late for redemption.

Heres my explanation Purple was the child of Blue and Pink Blue was a fighter,Purple couldnt live up to Blues expectations so they left,Pink died at some point Purple ruled over the villagers back in season one to feel important,but later on ruined it Purple joined King cuz they promised that theyll be strong together but then King threw him under the bus and took the power for himself Purples entire journey is just to prove Blue that he wasnt weak,Purple wanted to show Blue that hes strong Green told Purple that he doesnt have to prove anything,that Green and the other sticks will accept Purple,Green Acknoledged him

i think the purples story is: His father tried to train him back then. But purple was a failure to his father purple was scared. Father had enough of his failures and left them alone. Purple failed to make his father proud. But then purple met king. He saw king as a father figure and wanted to make him proud. We can kinda see this in one episode where king pats purples head like a father. But king ended up betraying him and revealed that he only used purple for his errand. Purple only wanted to make his father proud.

I agree with you when you say this is the most emotional episode. I personally think out of every animation Alan has made, this is the most emotional. Purple wasn’t good enough for his father, making him believe his father left his family because of that. Then his mom died. Ever since then, he blamed himself for his father leaving his family which led to his mother’s death, so he tried to be the best he could be. In season one, he tried to get the Dragon egg, but failed. And now, with King Orange now representing his father, he tries to fulfill Orange’s wishes the best he can. And he does. But the same thing happens as last time. King Orange leaves him. At this point, Purple ran away, into the music world, believing he can never be loved, only used, or not good enough. Green was the only one who saw through Purple. Green even brushed away the Angel halo near the end, showing Purple that he doesn’t have to be perfect. He can just be himself. and that’s why Green is my personal favorite character and why this episode was the most emotional

Well, I personally think that for purples backstory it's more of, dark blue (purple's father) trained him to become very strong but he didn't meet his fathers expectations forcing him to be a little to harsh on him so pink (purple's mother) protected him from dark blue, eventually dark blue got annoyed from pink continuously protecting purple so he left them knowing Pink would die from Grief and sadness which made purple to have to go fend for himself, just as a way to make him stop relying on others to help him.

Hey Nenaa you got the meaning of the story better than a lot of youtubers. But just a heads up, Purple story was: purple father wanted to train him, but purple didn't want to fight. So the father left the family. Purple wanted to earn someone approval that's why he strive for power the first time and tried to serve king orange because he seemed to care about him. Only for king orange to abandon him like his father. It is a touching tale and what Green did to care for him made the story of friendship true.

I love what Alan did with Purple's backstory but I lament how easy it is to misunderstand. I definitely read that sequence as Purple wanting revenge the first time as well, but I really don't think that makes sense. The way I see it at least, whether Purple's father was abusive or not (very much implied to be), Purple still wanted his affection. His dad clearly put very high expectations on him that he was never able to meet, which made him feel unimportant and like a disappointment. His dad had enough and left. I don't think we're meant to interpret the shot of him having his back turned to Purple as him literally being there, but more as a ghost that Purple's still chasing. And Purple doesn't want revenge necessarily, he still wants the validation and affection he was denied, and wants to prove that he's worthy of it. The dragon egg was one way he tried to prove it, but that didn't end up working out. Later, he met The King, who filled the role of a father figure Purple was missing. He offered the validation that Purple wanted, but in the end he was just using him for his own selfish gain. Though I have to admit, I've heard a lot of variations that differ to various degrees from this reading. I might be projecting some of my own trauma of abandonment, and my experiences with hurting people close to me due to said trauma, on this silly little series with stick figures, action scenes, and mildly accurate Minecraft.

I've seen these animations before back when I was a kid and I thought it was so good but suddenly I just stopped watching and found better content but I really love this video even when I didn't know it still existed, but when purple guys story appeared out of nowhere I almost cried, but when purple guy got pushed off of the wall he was climbing I cried because it was so disrespectful making someone reset on their goal. Honestly it was just so sad that I let everything out, I got so emotional and just bursted out in tears, but I stopped crying and continued watching the video, and I was happy when purple and green guy saved the nether and purple guy kicked orange to save the nether and saved the other people from the nether. This video was good though keep up the good work!

The father was training purple to fight, his mom says it's to stop because he's hurting purple, the father broke up with pink and left purple, as time goes by, his mother grown old and weak, and died eventually, since purple has no one left, he decided to look for his father, but it was not easy, there was some obstacles, the villagers represented that purple was the king of the villagers once, king blue, green, and the egg represents what he should choose the egg to get closer to his father or to save his new king mates, he chose the egg but he gave the egg to the dragon, so he got nowhere near to his father, the crown falling represents that purple is not the king of the villagers anymore, the parkour represents the Parkour that purple made, the king is closer to his father, so he gotta work with the king to get closer to his father, Purple got everyone else and took the minecraft block from red, so they put them into prison, they escaped prison and purple was an inch away from his destiny, he tried to make the king help him get up and the king betrayed purple just like in episode 25 and purple has fallen to reach his goal, all of this just to prove his father that he is not weak, but he came all the way through for nothing. Personally. I think the father wasn't abusive, like some people think. What is happening is: At first, the father wants to train Purple to grow strong. Of course, Purple is a kid, so he is weak, and being a kid, he goes to his mom, looking for comfort. As Purple grows, he doesn't get much stronger which frustrates the father, as he gets more and more violent towards Purple, thinking that this way it will finally change something in his son. Purple, as a response, goes again to his mom like always for comfort. The mother, in this way, shows her disapproval of what he is doing to Purple. The father, who feels wronged by his beloved who goes against him, gets more angry and stressed to a breaking point when... he has enough. He doesn't want to take care of a kid who doesn't want to grow and doesn't to be in a relationship where he is put like the bad guy by his wife. So, he leaves. Purple doesn't want that obviously. he still loves him, even with all that happens. But the mother feels sad and bad for making her husband leave and breaking the family they had. The stress builds up and at some point, she dies. With no one to rely on, to gain approval off or to look up too, the only lead for a direction in life is his father. And so tries desperately for his approval, for some kind of affection, for him to say "I'm proud". He destroys his relationships and use others as stepping stones, he sees other powerful people as a way to get stronger, or a similar being as his father who felt so much stronger than him. But in the end,... He just couldn't do it. I tried to explain my thoughts the more thoroughly possible. If I missed some things or you don't agree with something, feel free to tell.
