To cover as great and well known of a song as Purple Rain, by such a legendary and inimitable artist as Prince, and do so on an acoustic, and have it be on a 12 string, and write your own solo, and sing it amazingly well, and do it with feeling, AND make it this amazing, and to do it in a single take, with zero editing is absolutely crushing it on soooo many levels. I've loved this song since the day it was released and have been fortunate enough to witness some awesome cover of it but yours is without doubt the single best version I have ever heard since Prince himself and I'm almost 60 years old ... if he is indeed up there looking down on us I feel certain he would say " now that's how to cover a song " ... you made it as individual and unique as Prince always was and truth be known .... I reckon with how modest he actually was, he would've preferred your version.... very very well done !!!
