I just finished my first pokemon game (emerald). I got more curious playing Pokémon, not for long I got curious who's the best Pokémon player and searched it and purplecliffe was the first result. Watched a single video, entertained, subbed!

In all honesty that is probably one of the hardest questions to answer. This is due to the fact that there are different branches of the playing styles. There are regular runs, Pokemon VGC, online battle websites, nuzlockes along with its variations, Pokedex fillers, speed runners, and many more. Although if I were to say what the key determinant would be to have a challenge where the pokemon trainers are put to the test with a speed-run hard-core nuzlocke with all the trainers using the same generation games, with a tournament at the end using whatever Pokemon they caught that did not faint. Of course the tournament would have all the Pokemon set to the same level so the playing field is a bit more even, although they could just say no level set with just having the actual level being used. Either way the best Pokemon player would require them to be a careful battler, as well as a clever problem solver.
