Great video, highlighting a problem I have been shielded from for many years because of my size. Coming up with an idea, then building that idea are the two most challenging parts of creating redstone content. These people (there's plenty more as well) bypass both these painstaking parts of the process. It's almost impossible to compete with KZbin channels that do this, as they can put out 5-6 seemingly original pieces of content per week that their unknowing fans eat up. As I say, I am privileged that I don't face this problem often, with only the boldest stealing my work, but my heart always goes out to the small/mid size KZbinrs who are getting their content taken left and right. I may end up making a video on this topic myself.

Something pretty funny actually happened to me on one of Steveee's videos a very long time ago. I remember it was something like "how to draw in Minecraft" or something, using the power of the good ol' Command Blocks. It was a very very simple design, but Steveee pretty much "brute-forced" through the whole thing without any explanations on the purpose and functions of each Command (I can see how suspicious this can be now that I think about it). Seeing this, I was worried that potential beginners might not be able to understand what exactly is happening in this design and forced to copy and paste the whole thing without learning anything. I believe that it would be more beneficial and fun for these beginners to actually understand the design. Therefore, I left a comment providing a full explanation of how everything works in this design and what purpose does each Command serves just so people can enjoy what's shown in the video themselves as well and possibly create their own designs using what they have learned from this. Well guess what. My comment was deleted not long after it was written. Like, I am not even trying to call him out because I am someone who you would call "lives under a rock" and I have no idea if he stole this design from elsewhere or not. At that time I was just confused. Confused about why he would delete such a comment that can benefit the viewers more, making this video of his more valuable than before. This confusion of course led to my suspicion that something fishy might be going on here. But I decided to just let it go since I got nothing against him. I forgot all about it not long after. Now? It's all coming together now. It was indeed a stolen design, and he was afraid of being called out by someone who actually understands the design (even though I have no idea that he stole this design from elsewhere lol).

Videos like this are so satisfying. There are more of these scumbags that needs to be called out. In the Shulkercraft part, you could've mentioned about them stealing Ilmango's stuff and Vktec's mob switch, video of which they didn't remove after Vktec asked them to. Great video regardless. These are the videos that actually make people aware of the often miscredited, underrated side of Minecraft: the tech community 😊👍

I do redstone all the time, one was this one utilising village farmers to break crops and chuck it into a hopper. After some research i saw it had been done before, but when people either, A) wrongly accuse you of stealing, or B) use things without credit, it makes me wanna chuck em in a mob grinder. Great video that adresses a peoblem wider than just redstone. Keep it up!
@artemis_furrson2 жыл бұрын
Another thing to note is that even though Shulkercraft credits the designers, they don't ask for permission. Ilmango designed a cobblestone farm and made a video about it with a tutorial in it. Shulkercraft took the design and made their own video without asking and got more views than ilmango. Another thing is that they clickbait nether tree drops per hour by including the non-stem blocks. But the worst clickbait they did was "how to get infinite diamonds". The video was just them saying you can buy diamond gear from villagers.

I will no longer give any of these channels my views. I used to watch ShulkerCraft for builds but never again! Thieves do not deserve anything. If you can’t be original, at least give credit. Not hard.
@MrRubikraft2 жыл бұрын
I hate this situation so much, and I really hope a solution will emerge soon. I hate the fact that more and more redstoners stop sharing their builds because of the fear to be stolen. It definitely has a huge impact on the stolen people. Take Ilmango, who makes a living out of his KZbin channel, and who chose to drastically reduce his audience by reducing the amount of content he chooses to share... People don't know enough the impact that stealing has on small content creators...
@ハーフ-r1m Жыл бұрын
I think what happens often is these smaller redstoners who make the original builds don't always have the best editing to make building these contraptions clear. Of course this doesn't apply to everything but typically these larger channels make instructions in higher quality. Part of the reason I like shulkercraft so much is that they make most of their guides on making farms easier to follow than most other creators.
@neoqwerty2 жыл бұрын
I feel kind of vindicated that when I take a redstone creation and replicate it in one of my worlds, there's always a sign near the most accessible redstone components (or outright in front of the demo build in my SMP lag tester world) that actually says whose tutorial I followed, if I modified it (I note down what I had to tweak, usually it's adding delays or space restrictions), and if hybridized I have both designs' creators on the sign(s) (and any official name the systems' creators gave them). That way at worst, all I have to do to remember where it's from is to open my old test world or go into the "repair hatch" and find the note I left myself, because I don't always remember who first posted a design. (and sometimes I have a "made b X and popularized by Y" sign, when someone credited another's design and made a tutorial on it from schematics I can't understand)

Such a shame to see this problem is still in the KZbin community. As a content creator myself I can say it feels degrading when you spend sometimes more than a day brainstorming videos ideas, executing recording and editing, just to see someone spend 3 seconds of their time taking it and adding some cool sound effect or music over what you made and calling it something "new."

Ianxofour's Minecraft Elegance series has been ripped off so many times. His farms are insane. Not necessarily high yield or anything but the output/building effort ratio is ridiculously high. I love his designs, but I've seen several of them uploaded by random people with no credit at all (or the bare minimum, just a link or name drop in the description with no mention in title or video itself).

When I met gamers react I instantly knew he was that type of contect creator that is "lazy", half of his content are videos that are supposed to be uncommon or something and then you see in one of his videos for example how someone found geode on the bottom of the ocean, and I also noticed how his content is made for younger generation like repeatingly using cringe audio so he would have his audience younger so he wouldn't get exposed easily probabbly.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS PURPLERS. the bedrock KZbin community is so bad at this point I simply walked away from it forever. there wasn't any choice in the end. as a small channel you won't see any growth over anything from the works of stolen java content that simply doesn't work, its just a complete mess compared to java that was built on KZbin as much as KZbin was built on Minecraft. bedrock had a lot of potential and also flaws but it has died by the hand of those who milked it for everything and drove away their own audience. it was hard walking back to java after trying to work to help bedrock in so many way but there's only one road left.
