The reason for Sprind is because Sprind specifically specifies Xyz Monster, and a face-down monster is not that; going by card text alone, it shouldn't work in the TCG. This is completely different, Beauty simply wants to attach the card on the field to itself, and it being booked doesn't make a difference because it's still 'this card' and it never specified face-up or Xyz Monster. 101 works the same. Gigantic can detach from face-down monsters as it does not specify Xyz Monster.

We see a lot and a lot of Purely replays, is it possible to have some Despia ones as well as some more Mannadom duels in a near future ? These are interesting decks to watch out for considering they have seen new support coming in the last extensions ^^ Thank you for the commentaries and tech choices sometimes (Book on Kashtira in case the opponent just battles Arise-Heart with a single monster, ...)

Now this is the dueling book experience I know. Someone who has absolutely no idea about rulings linking you a facebook/reddit page that has absolutely no relevance to the ruling you're talking about, calling a judge when there's no one online and sitting there for 30 minutes until someone leaves. I had an extremely simple one 2 weeks ago where I explained to my opponent how PSCT works from the ground up and they still wouldn't listen, after 40 minutes of waiting for a judge I just left.

TBH, sprind can still detach from facedown. We have the time thief winder that can detach from facedown for cost and redoer/ gigantic still detach facedown xyz for effect.

"Yes, you can detach an Xyz Material from a face-down Xyz Monster to activate Spright Sprind's effect. Normally, cards that detach materials either specify that the Xyz Monster needs to be face-up (Xyz Encore), or have an additional stipulation that inherently requires the Xyz to be face-up (Grandpa Demetto needing "Princess Cologne"; Kurivolt requiring to target an Xyz Monster; Barrage Blast needing Machine Xyz Monsters). Aside from those, it doesn't matter if the Xyz Monster is face-up or face-down, it's public knowledge that it has Xyz Materials so the game allows you to interact with them. (Even tho we can't recognize if the face-down monster itself is an Xyz Monster or not for the purposes of Cross-Sheep, Zoodiac Tigermortar, etc). Time Thief Winder and Bezel Ship are written similar to Spright Sprind and their Database FAQs clarify that they can detach from a face-down Xyz: db.ygorganization.com/card#14353 db.ygorganization.com/card#14354 "Detach 1 Xyz Material from a monster you control" and "detach 1 material from an Xyz Monster you control" are synonyms here."

@@Shadow4707 What you are referring to is equip effects, not Xyz Materials. There, we have 2 basic distinctions: 1) If the effect TARGETS, like DBG said for example Thousand-Eyes Restrict, the card will indeed go to the GY. This is because the effect resolves properly and you equip the card but it gets immediately destroyed by game mechanics. 2) If the effect doesn't target, like D/D/D Wave Oblivion King Caesar Ragnarok, the card stays as it is and the effect resolves doing nothing. This way is also how the new Gold Pride fusion works. I named those 2 specific monsters because there are official rulings about them for you to check out in the database. For the Xyz materials, the monster is still considered an Xyz even if face-down, or else it wouldn't be able to have Xyz Materials. This isn't a case similar to cards holding spell counters. If you want a precedence ruling, both Gigantic Spright and Sprind can detach materials from facedown Xyz monsters. Also the explanation DBG gave about BLS and Chaos Sorcerer is slightly incorrect. The "that target" in Chaos Sorcerer's effect means the target will be checked again during resolution whether it is legal or not (Calcab uses the same). And a legal target is a "face-up monster". If it had "banish it" or "banish that card" the effect would go through. Thus the "Attach it to this card" works even if you chain Book of Moon in Pretty Memory's case based on the previous rulings.

Well I feel Nesh needs to go back to judge school. Yet he is a player. The rule is in chain with beauty and book of moon or even Dino play. The cost is send a card to graveyard. Player responds in chain. Then the chain resolves xyz is flipped facedown and a card is then attached on resolution, similar to tactics taking a monster in resolution I do like how NESH came back in and apologize I can only imagine that discord voice where coder and NeSH talked lol.

please correct me if I wrong. if the card text "attach to this xyz monster as material" it can't attach when the monster is facedown. but the text is "attach to this card as material" face down monster still counted as card so it can be attached.

Yes that's exactly how it works, when a card, when the card is face-down the "game" does not recognize if the card is an xyz monster or not, so if the card said "attach to this xyz monster as material" you couldn't attach to it because you don't know if it is an xyz monster, in this case since it says "attach to this card as material", you don't need to know if it's an xyz monster or not to attach

Scareclaw negates effects of monsters battled by kash/scare monsters until the end of the turn. The moment it declares an attack on zeus it's doing nothing, that's why he said zeus should be in attack position, rival would've at least lost the scare by doing that
