agree with d barrier, but i think droll will always be around in case a tier 1 super combo deck shows up. think original spyral and shs were some offenders that caused droll to be relevant

@@xsexcess You DO realize the combo decks are running droll too right? This is the Maxx "C" argument all over again where now you have to deal with the combo board AND play under the near uninteractable floodgate.

@@amethonys2798 yes that is a problem; that those insane combo decks can also run droll to stop each other or lower powererd decks. but what other options are there? the combo decks going second and lower scale decks won't have enough gas or protection to establish a board because the opponent was allowed to full conbo. some of those unstoppable combo decks even have answers to boardbreakers (mannadium has the counter trap, rikka sunavalon can use the borea gaining effect of regulus, shs made spell canceller to deal with dark ruler, etc), so trying to stop them early is one of the only possible ways to stay in the game. i agree droll can be unfun and oppressive, but it may be the only way to try to keep those decks "in check" when they do show up. the banlist does have to address those problem decks eventually but during the time they are legal, those turn ending floodgates and hand traps are the only hope for the same combo decks and other decks with weaker engines to keep up because a single one-for-one trading hand trap is usually not enough to stop them.

@@amethonys2798 That comparison is stupid beyond belief, Droll isn't even close to being used as much as Maxx "C" is in Master Duel/OCG, so the "tHIs iS tHe mAXx"c" aRGuMenT" just falls flat. Also, decks that droll stops tend to be pretty degenerate, meanwhile decks that Maxx "C" stops are any fucking one that specials summons, which are like 99,999% of them
