Pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience

This is a recording of a speaker event with Ms. Nicole Vissers where she spoke about her path to pursuing a PhD in neuroscience. She discussed her research project, what PhD programs entails, and gave advice for potential applicants. Nearing the end, there was a Q & A session where attendees asked Ms. Vissers questions and received live responses.
Nicole is a first-year Neuroscience PhD student at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre, UCL, London. She has received her bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Vrije University of Amsterdam. Nicole has a double master's degree in Brain & Cognitive Sciences and Neuroscience from the University of Amsterdam and Vrije University of Amsterdam. While earning these degrees, she has had the opportunity to have worked in various labs in the Netherlands where she worked with a variety of techniques, such as DREADDs and in vivo GRIN lens 2 photon.
