पुर्तगाल का ‘रास्पबेरी वीज़ा’ [Portugal's ‘Raspberry Visa’] | DW Documentary हिन्दी

23.11.2021 - पुर्तगाल में, दक्षिण एशियाई प्रवासी कामगार उन रास्पबेरियों को चुनने का काम करते हैं, जिनकी यूरोपीय बाज़ार में भरमार है. ये कमर तोड़ने वाला काम है, जिसमें एक घंटे काम का वेतन, 4 यूरो से भी कम है, और दिनभर में 10 घंटों की मेहनत है. इसका प्रलोभन है पुर्तगाली पासपोर्ट मिलने की धुंधली उम्मीद.
पुर्तगाल के इन रास्पबेरी बाग़ों वाले इलाकों में कामगार ढूंढना कठिन है. इसीलिए यहां की सरकार ने एक तरकीब निकाली कि 7 साल यहां काम करने पर, पुर्तगाल की नागरिकता दी जाएगी. इसी उम्मीद में कुछ 20 हज़ार विदेशी प्रवासी कामगार इन बाग़ों में मज़दूरी करने चले आए. इन्हीं में से एक हैं भारत के गियान पॉल. वे पिछले पांच सालों से इन बाग़ों में काम कर रहे हैं और बेटे को वॉट्सऐप पर बड़ा होता देख रहे हैं। लेकिन उनका कहना है कि यूरोपीय संघ का पासपोर्ट मिलने के बाद उन्हें 186 से ज़्यादा देशों में जाने की आज़ादी होगी, इसलिए ये त्याग सही है. वो एक दिन अपनी पत्नी और बेटे को भी पुर्तगाल लाना चाहते हैं. उन्हें लगता है कि ये देश उनके लिए पूरी दुनिया घूमने की कुंजी है. लेकिन गियान पॉल जैसे कई दूसरे कामगारों के लिए यहां की परेशानियां रास्पबेरी तोड़ने के काम से काफी पहले शुरू हो जाती हैं. ये लोग टूरिस्ट वीज़ा हासिल करने के लिए नौकरी दिलाने वाली एजेंसियों को 16000 यूरो की भारी रकम अदा करते हैं. आम तौर पर ये पैसा तस्कर माफिया के हाथों में चला जाता है. एक बार पुर्तगाल पहुंचने पर, इन प्रवासी कामगारों को ये रकम चुकाने के लिए जी तोड़ मेहनत करनी पड़ती है.
पुर्तगाली सरकार इन कृषि प्रवासी कामगारों पर निर्भर है. लेकिन क्या इसके लिए उन्होंने, मध्य यूरोप में एक आधुनिक दास व्यवस्था तो नहीं स्थापित कर दी है?

Hmm..exactly thats what I was thinking. They said they pay them 4 EURO per hour. So, even if they work for 10 hour in a day they will earn EURO 40 in a day and its 1200 EU in a month which is equal to 98k INR. After that they have to live there eat there and travel there so you can see how much they are saving over there. Its a complete trap and taking advantage of the people when no one is there to support them. When 3g was about to launch in India, everybody in my telecom engineering batch dreamed of landing a job in Reliance/Idea/Tata/Ericson and Nokia, etc., but non did. Because these companies had shadow companies, which gave contracts to other companies that had other shadow companies. So many people worked for reliance kind of big companies, but there were 3-4 shadow companies between them. It resulted in meager pay (4-7K INR) for an engineer without any benefits like medical/leaves etc. They were doing jobs that were previously done by laborers. And once the work was done, they were fired the same day. Nothing has changed so far. So, anyone who thinks India would have presented a better opportunity, EFF OFF.

The choose is “yours” i came Portugal in December 2019 but i came with knowing little Spanish and i had experience working in restaurants and i choose lisbon as its capital with a lot of Resturants and hotels but i have also faced a lot of bad times as it was covid time , all resturant was closed but i never gave up even people used to say me that you should go to work in farms as there aren’t any jobs but i never went as i didnt work before in farms and even after studying this much and with a lot of experince in Resturant me myself was not agree. So i have found job in Resturant and also learned Portugues as well and then now i am working in one of the best Hotel here and also have received my TRC. So i want to say if you dont know even English and dont have any experience in any field so dont dream so big instead start improving your qualities and skills. I am living in centre of Lisboa and very happy with my decision to come to Portugal.

This is not just in Portugal but all over Europe, UK, Australia, New Zealand etc. People in these developed countries don’t want to do farming jobs as they are physically demanding. Thus there is lots of seasonal demand of people who can do these hard farming jobs. And don’t forget thousands of Indians, Thai, Nepalese people everyday going to UAE to build those shiny skyscrapers. People from countries like India, Thailand, Brazil, Russia and African countries find these jobs attractive as they can make more money in short time doing these labor jobs then they would make otherwise. Many people knowingly make a choice to pay lots of money to human trafficking gangs to get to EU, USA illegally so that they can go there and work illegally and get visa/citizenship, jobs etc. In reality such people are encouraging and sponsoring human trafficking, forced prostitution, drug smuggling and many such illegal activities. It is then tax payers whose hard earned money is spend on dealing with these illegal activities. Its quite funny that many in comments are blaming Modi. This situation is irrespective of Modi government. Rahul, Kejriwal jiss ko PM banana hai vote deke banao. Yeh logg PM dekh karr kisiko khet mei kaam karrne nahi bulate. Logg apni marzi se yeh kaam karrne jaate hai.

When I visited Portugal, I met plenty of illegally immigrated Indians. It was horrific situation, we tried to help them, but finding a job without documentation is impossible. Unless, there are contractors . It's literally modern slavery. Once these people have documentation, they exploit next generation and cycle continues.

It doesn't mean that you're not patriotic enough. If you're giving education to your children in a Better private school instead of govt school, it doesn't mean you're a deshdrohi. If citizens are not trusting the system then it's a collective failure or society and govt. People here in India are overburdened with debts and lack of opportunities. The social system is dying and people have to move abroad for a better quality of life.
