I have been traveling the globe with my family for the past 2 years and in most of the places we visit one can witness the damaging results of ethnocentric and freedom of speech deprived societies, these societies have created living experiences for people that deprive them of their humanity. Freedom of speech means not only the right to say what's on your mind but also to challenge staus quo and the wrong habits of society. India like any other place on earth has its share of ignorant propaganda but it is also the place where Kabir, Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda and many other great Indians were born and they taught us what it means to live as truly free people. India is becoming slave to greed at an accelerating rate, the youth who are lucky to be taught by teachers like Professor Purushottam Agrawal. They must understand this is indeed a dangerous time in India.

i have a question which is unsettling me for a long time, and this unsettling has increased with this new political enviornment Is the work on an elected representative(MP,MLA etc..) is to project/represent the will of the people who elected him OR after election he can act as he sees fit for the people, what sould he do in a democracy for ex lets say in a society there are 100 people all of them wants that all everone should be given new smartphones(POPULAR DEMAND OF THE SOCIETY) but he thinks that it would be better to use that fund on sanitation/infrasturcture(NOT A POPULAR DEMAND) , so what does he should do, if he is a representative of the will of the people that he should buy smartphones(in doing so he is upholding democratic principle , by the people , for the people) but it will not be a INTELLECTUAL DECISION , and if he spends he fund on sanitation , he will be doing what is RIGHT (its,not the will of the people) how does the maker of the constitution wanted him to act it will be very enlighting to hear your views on this

Democracy is the will of people to choose their representatives to rule. India is parliamentry system. People vest power to MP's for 5 years to take decisions for themselves. So, the people now don't have power to take decisions. After giving authority to MP's , parliament becomes the supreme authority to take decisions. People should not interfere in parliament's functions unless they go against them. Also ,there are discussions & other things to take inputs from public & to persuade them of the decisions taken. There is no way to measure the popular will. The elected govt is considered popular will & decisions taken are decisions by popular will. If any dispute, they can protest or go to court.
