Good job Poorvang. Please note that it is not compulsary to make 4WD and it does not require Rs.15 Lakhs to make a Baja Buggy. If 30 team members contribute Rs.10K each, Rs.3 Lakhs is enough to make a Baja Buggy.

3lakh isn't enough , u will never get things correct in one go, considering students do these things for the 1st time in their life, the material costs and the specialized machinings cost a lot for a single prototype , wastage takes awaya a major chunk of funds in RnD projects, pluse the accommodation the travel..all these things too us more than 15lac during my time.

Esa nahi h our team Gensonic made its first baja in 2011 and got in top 10 and the car was totally from junkyard for ₹80,000 if college would’ve supported Gensonic would’ve won

with current rules and regulations in the baja, making a vehicle in 3 lakhs is not possible, especially if you are a new team. It is not the days when teams used to use secondhand parts, junkyard parts ... you might know that now we need to show everything with proper bills and proofs in TI. It takes around 1 lakh for just travelling and accommodation for entire team. I'm very curious to see the budget plan with 3 lakhs.

I forgot to mention one thing that BAJA actually conducts an HR round at the end of Phase 3, and the majority of engineering students get placed in this HR meet. But to be eligible to appear in the HR meet, your team needs to clear the virtual round. Adding to this, it is not necessary that the minimum cost of your BAJA vehicle will cost Rs 5 lakhs, you can manufacture it cheaper if you intend to. Making it cheaper gives you an advantage to scoring good marks in the Business presentation, but that vehicle must be capable of fighting in dynamic events.

There are a lot of assumptions to be made while designing the suspension system if you are a new team. I have made a video about the design of the suspension system considering the rolling moment. Many teams, basically new teams are struggling with sponsorships. Its would be better if you have someone in your team who has some references in industries who can ask for sponsorships. I have studied European teams and realised that they actually provide stakes to the companies sponsoring them. Basically, they gather investors for their teams and the teams give the price amount back to the companies based on the stakes they hold in the team. Another way would be to ask for parts instead of many.

Usually I suggest IITs and NITs are the best but they dont offer automobile engineering. But some good that offer a course in automobile engineering are, 1) VIT, Vellore, 2) Veltech University, Chennai, 3) Christ University, Bangalore 4) Chitkara University, Chandigarh. There are other colleges as well, but I named these because these college are in collaboration with ARAI Academy.
