Telekinesis would probably be the best ability for versatility if it didn't need you to meet multiple requirements. You would be capable of cutting any physical matter in half if you can 1. Sense what you're manipulating. 2. Your brains processing speed is capable of manipulating the multiple atoms you need to pull apart to cut something like just a golden ingot.

PK users (having powers deriving from Psionic forces) only need to visualize the desired effect and have the power to bring that effect to the physical world. TK users (whose powers derive from alternate sources) would need to sense matter to manipulate it, understand atomical structures to manipulate them more intricately, and/or utilize a decent amount of physical exertion. I also think PK users also have potential access to Telepathic abilities since their powers are Psionic. It would explain the constant TK and Telepathy combo for a lot of characters.

So, telekinesis is a raw telekinetic force, and psychokinesis is pure pisonic force. But they both derived from the mind. Telekinesis can be any force to manipulate physical matter, while psychokinesis is more supernatural in nature, manipulating both physical and metaphysical matter in nature?

Telekinesis is my favorite power. It's basically an all in one ability. You can move objects around obviously but once you're able to effortlessly move people that means you should be able to lift yourself up and fly. You should also be able to increase your body's strength and durability, giving you super strength, speed, and agility. You could then enhance every part of your body to perfection, eye sight, smell, hearing, balance, touch etc. But the real fun would be with being able to manipulate other elements like fire, electricity, air, water, earth, and wood. Electricity would give you electro magnesis, meaning you can create electro magnetic fields and control metal. Water would give you control over ice and snow, and air could be used to create hurricanes. Simply put, Telekinesis is broken.

As someone who tries writing fiction, this is a subject I've spent quite a bit of time thinking about. Respectfully, there is one important limitation to potentially real telekinesis that appears to have slipped through the cracks; the physics law of Conservation of Energy. Whatever telekinetic effect that you might create, there is energy expended. Something simple, like floating a coin into the slot of a candy machine (I may be old, but I do still have a sweet tooth) requires almost no energy and can, in theory, be done almost without limit; the energy the purchased candy bar gives you (food energy/calories) is realistically far more than what you, as a telekinetic, would expend in floating the coins over. By contrast, the energy involved in, say, deadlifting a car is more than what would totally exhaust almost every human out there.

@@fiftyshadesofshey You addressed this matter in your second telekinesis video (which I also liked) Just for grins and giggles, there's a little something I have in what I'm trying to write that you might enjoy; in this universe, sure, things like telekinesis (technically, by your definitions, it is psychokinesis) is real, but it is extremely rare and usually left to the pages of the Inquirer. Anyhow, the family at the center of my writing have a young boy with telekinetic talents. When he was six, his uncle (who was eleven at the time) showed him the "Real World Trick Shots" videos by Dude Perfect. The youngster, being highly impressionable (kids are at that age), started having fun with telekinesis controlled Real World Trick Shots. Yeah, he got a Time Out over that, but it was his uncle who got in REAL trouble.

To be technical telekinesis is just moving objects with mental force put there are other methods of moving objects without touching it differently. Psychokinesis is manipulating matter with psychic forces only, you can use either term as its cooler to say tk then pk hope that helps
