Beautiful message! In the face of the recent riots, it's important to have an English imam speak about our universal values. Tribalism is from the lower self. #PushBackBetter

Beautiful dakwah. I think mosque in england should have an open house program so non muslims in the neighbourhood can know more about islam. Let the non muslims come, share knowledge about islam, prepare free foods for them and share food for homeless and the poor. Learn from Mosque in America. They have this kind of program. In sha Allah when non muslims in england know about this beautiful religion. They will start to think. May Allah bless us with great patience and heart as wide as the ocean.

Excellent speech. We have to stop imagining the working class, the farmer indigenous to this land have no agency or are mindless Minions. They have genuine fears and insecurities about losing. We have to make them feel we will protect their way of life so they feel safe and secure in our presence

Alhumdullilah. May Allah keep blessing the righteous, introspective Imam. Ameen May Allah help us not become of those who hold deep grudges that turn into revenge, Astaghfirullah. Ameen “Tribalism comes from the lowest part of us--my people, right or wrong.” (Astaghfirullah). “We must never dehumanize our neighbors, whatever they say about us”--so true). Not to get lost at another’s level.

May Allah bless the Shaykh for always soothing the hearts and souls by his excellent wise, sincere, eloquent messages plucked so expertly from the values that Islam embodies. Indeed the Quranic 'pushing back better' is indeed something that is found with our beloved Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. It is actually also found quite intimately in Muslim cultures (that the Shaykh has so beautifully brought us back to that way of being). We have quite interestingly, I discovered to my amazement recently, in the Moroccan colloquial darija, for instance, their use of 'push back better' (they say billati) as a word that no longer literally means literally what it did in classical Arabic but can be used in a variety of instances. One may say if let's say, it's raining outside, they will say billati billati to mean, that it's better not to go out now. And there's many more examples but I notice that I'm going on but suffice it to say, this Quranic wisdom is found embedded in everyday language and is something that we should be reclaiming for not just our current situation but also for all the other fitan that may come our way (we ask Allah for afiya).

Our dawah needs to be more actions and less words. Something is wrong with the way the young do dawah - they are egoistic, gleeful at humiliating the non-Muslims and the endless debates. They know so little and depend on oneupmanship for victory. They leave their target audience full of hate. This is not dawah, this is a display of gross pride.
@lamiahadri39395 ай бұрын
The sheikh noted that those who are attacking islam really don't know much about it. That is mostly right. Whoever knows a bit about islam will respect it enough, so, when giving dawah, instead of treating poeple of other beliefs as ignorant and making them feel stupid for not knowing enough and ridiculing them in front of people, one should reach out in a respectable, decent way, because if you ridicule someone you lose them. #pushbackbetter

It is indeed much more pleasing to Allah (SWT) that we reply with something better. Tit for tat however… is allowed in Islam. Submission to God requires one to respect oneself and their own body. If the body is endangered it is actually recommended that we do not cede ground to the threat/perceived enemy. People who follow the way of Jahalia like to test and push boundaries and they need to be reminded that the only Divine Right is sanctioned by the Almighty (SWT) and not some egomaniacal despot.

What has happened to the working classes is the collapse of industries in which they were based, not some change in their social culture that came from them, eg 4 working class lads from Liverpool. Also, I'd contend that when his grandfather was alive, Britain's wealth compared to the rest of the world was greater than it is now.What has happened to the working classes is the collapse of industries in which they were based, not some change in their social culture that came from them, eg 4 working class lads from Liverpool. Perhaps "my people right or wrong" is an inevitable extremity swinging back from the ideology of "no loyalty to my people at all is virtue". And yet 3:167 tells us "And were Allah not to repel some people by means of others, the earth should have become corrupt". If the good and the natural are the same as Shaykh mentions, we must expect great dysfunction from an ideology of total disloyalty to ancestry. Peace.
