I have degenerative back disease and other health issues. I've "lived" with chronic pain for over 15 years, pushing on. Now, at 61, notwithstanding major life style changes, I can barely work, with the ensuing domino effect. I'm not on meds, tried but nothing but oppioids have any significant effect but I refuse to go down that lane... and now can no longer afford alternatives. Any suggestions? I'd be infinitely grateful. 🙏

You may not want to take pain meds, however, chronic pain will absolutely kill you. It puts too much stress on your body and heart. My wife has severe chronic pain. I would suggest the least powerful pain medicine you can tolerate. Also, chronic pain will absolutely cause depression. You really should reconsider a very thoughtful, intelligent pain management program. Opioids are NOT all bad. It’s the abuse of them that is the problem. If you are truly is severe chronic pain, then you don’t have too many options. Your quality of life will destroy you if you don’t try and minimize the pain responsibly.

thank you for saying that. I’m in chronic pain and take opioids😊 regularly. It still hurts, just not as badly. It also can definitely cause depression. Stress makes everything worse. I have been healthy and active until i was in a second car accident, still, after 10 years of chronic pain and high blood pressure, I had to have triple bypass open heart surgery. pain sucks

@@ambermyers9174 you hang in there. Severe chronic pain can only be understood by those in it, and in a small part, by those living and supporting those in it. Anyone else has no idea what they are talking about. You MUST manage the real and actual physical pain first, and then you can focus on your mental well being. God can give tremendous relief, but the reality is that the human body ages incredibly fast, and begins to shut down when it is in severe chronic pain, so finding ways to manage that is the most important thing. Without opioids and pain management strategies, there is only suffering and misery in this physical realm. People must be able to ease the pain, and the risk of addiction can be addressed once the pain is managed. THE VAST MAJORITY of people that have been and are given opioids don’t need them, and that is the problem. The ones that do need them MUST be able to get them. It is inhumane and cruel to not treat severe pain.

Thanks for saying that. My wife has been in serious pain since covid shot. Any opioid you might recommend? Thx a lot
