Sorry, to bother you, but your belaying is not save! Keep a brake hand on at all times! The holding with 2 fingers won't save her, if she falls. You were holding onto the wrong side of the rope all the time. Rather use this hand to adjust the rope. Please optimize your technique and be save! The climb is very nice and you seem to be very nice people tho👍

Thanks for your comment. It made us think our belaying. I have to agree and disagree with your opinion. My belaying from above looks careless and flimsy with just couple fingers around the rope at times. I could improve it by gripping the brake strand better when moving braking hand, or just simply sliding hands on ropes. On the other hand, I don't see this as a major safety issue with the system we're using (atc guide mode). If belaying would have been done in other method without guide mode, my behaivior would be alarming. The reason why I'm gripping climber side of the rope is that I need to lift it to help it go through our belay device. Atc in guide mode has lot more friction than grigri when running the ropes through it. I would be interested to hear opinions from other people too!

@@joonasmattila6179 Thanks for pointing out that you were using an ATC in guide mode. As it was not visible, I assumed you were using a Half clove hitch belay. I agree, this makes it much saver as it should autoblock (and this makes me sleep a lot better ;-) ). Very positive, that you still take the criticism and see room for improvement. Thanks, have fun and be save!
