Don, that is an amazing looking tractor. You sure keep your equipment in tip top shape. I love those older Deere’s!! Great job.

Dear Sir: Certainly appreciate your comments. If you are patient and are willing to wait a few more days I am working on this very moment a video of that same tractor as it worked on my farm so many years ago. It is a very slow process and lots of hurdles to jump in order to convert some of those old VHS tapes to CD and then to MP4. Hopefully by mid week??

Thank you for the video. It is always nice to have a loader tractor. Nice looking John Deere.

It's nice to see a tractor that someone takes care of. Did I understand correctly, 7000 hours?? Looks more like she's got 700 hours.

I guess there is no harm in adding your name to the list, but unfortunately it will probably be here as long as I stay in this yard. I am putting together another video that should be out in another 10 days showing why I just can not get rid of it.

DeereDon: You certainly have looked after your equipment over the years. Very rare these days. I watch videos where some operators ram and bang their tractors and then wonder why it is unreliable. This winter at least down east here has been brutal, cold and tons of snow. Nice to see snow out west for a change. What part of east central Sask are you located. Take care and be safe out there. Regards from PEI.

Hello Brian: In response to your question, we are situated about 45 miles (as the crow flies) north-east of Regina. The buildings in the background of my videos is the western edge of the small village of Lipton. (It was named for the Scottish tea merchant Sir Thomas Lipton, the originator of Lipton Tea, Lipton Soup, Lipton Cup-of-Tea, etc.) I should thank you for your most interesting comments.

Your welcome Don: Thanks for the history lesson. Have been to Fort Qu'Appelle (sp) in the day, great area of the country.

what a beautiful 4455...and you deserve even more credit bc it hasn't been a "garage queen"...with those hours, you've obviously used it. Do you have any videos of your 8450 or still own it? I love that articulated series; my favorite is the 8850, unfortunately they don't have the best reputations for reliable engines.
@DeereDon3 жыл бұрын
I certainly appreciate your comments. In regards to the 4455, I am working on a video at this very minute that will become my next production. As for the 8450, no, it left this yard almost 10 years ago when I retired, but yes, there will be a video of that tractor, BUT, unfortunately it will not be very long. Only one video clip was made of it so many years ago, due to camera problems we never did any more. If you look at the very top of my You Tube videos (You Tube channel), you will see a photo of it taken back in May of 2009.

I’m excited to view your upcoming videos. No one, or very few, on KZbin are doing what your doing, & it’s most likely bc they don’t have a lot of footage from years back before everyone had a “camera in their hand”. So thanks for doing an excellent job sharing your archival footage of farming in a much simpler time. As a 5th generation family farmer who’s always loved farm equipment, mainly John Deere, I can tell another farmer with the same mentality, like yourself. I can’t help but feel after putting hours on end in our cabs doing an extraordinary amount of work in these green machines/day, the feeling of attachment; I tell my non-farmer friends they almost become apart of you. Some farmers look at their machinery as simply a way to make money, and you can tell the ones that do by how they take care of it; My love for John Deere equipment, tractors and combines, has always went deeper than that, so it’s nice coming across someone who appears to feel the same way. Keep up your nice work.

The Cab have heat? Great video, thanks for posting!
@DeereDon5 жыл бұрын
The tractor cab came with both a heater and air conditioner as standard equipment. On sunny days as shown in the video it is sometimes not necessary to turn on the heater as the sun shining through all that glass makes a very big difference. But am still glad it is there when I need it.

Hi Fred, thanks for your comments, greatly appreciated. I would say we are about 25 miles apart, give or take, the way the crow flies. I have been through your area once, many years ago, you may have even gone past my place on the highway as seen in the background of my video.
