Unlike Latvian and many other languages that use standard Latin month names, Lithuanian month names have an actual meaning attached to it. Kovas (March),is a bird, Balandis (April), Gegužė (May) are also birds. Birželis (June) means Birch trees, Liepa (June) is a linden tree, Rugpjūtis (August) means wheat harvest, Rugsėjis (September) means wheat planting, Spalis (October) is a bird, Lapkritis (November) means falling leaves, Gruodis (December) I am not sure, Vasaris (February) means summer for some reason, maybe cause its the last winter month.

forgot to add Sausis (January), which means "dryness", most likely because winters that are cold without much snow are dry and have dry air. a lot of Lithuanian words have semantic meaning. Especially Lithuanian names. My own name Rytis is derived from Lithuanian Rytas (Latvian Ryts) - morning. We also have a Vakaris (Latvian Vakars) which means evening. Both male names.

Januaris Februaris Martis Aprilis Mais Junis Did I guess it right? The way Lithuanians add '-as', Latvians add '-is' and call it a day?
