Pussycat was a Dutch pop group from Brunssum in Limburg led by the three Kowalczyk sisters: Toni, Betty and Marianne. Other members of the band were Lou Willé (Toni's then-husband), Theo Wetzels, Theo Coumans, and John Theunissen. The band had four international hits in a row in the mid-seventies: Mississippi (1975), Georgia (1976), Smile (1976) and My broken souvenirs (1977) and then a series of hit singles in the Netherlands and Belgium. Mississippi was number 1 the Netherlands and in another 15 countries. 'Mississippi' achieved 22 gold records. It is estimated that "Mississippi" sold over five million copies worldwide. Most of Pussycat's songs were written by Werner Theunissen.

Fantastic song. Remember when it hit the charts here in the UK. Dutch station "TopPop" in my opinion had great quality (picture) videos. It's really good to see that they are being remastered. Thankyou Top Pop so much . Splendid work . I am loving their songs and music . Two years ago I looked for a Bee Gees song on u-tube and Mississippi came up . I was smitten . Since then I have enjoyed Pussycat so much and collected vynil and cd albums and singles way back to Sweet Reaction . I remember watching and likeing the paddle steamer video as a boy with my mother on Top of the Pops . I have translated and read the rescent book and am about to complete the jigsaw puzzle too !! 😁 . I have been very in love with their songs especially 'Hey Joe' Im born 1991 so I only had internet since 13 or something before only radio and cds. After my 20s I had interest in many genres and 70s80s90s etc then I found their songs also again. I became instantly fan again together with the band Heart my favorite female singers. Then I find out they were all Dutch, from my own area how crazy is that. I cannot hear any Dutch influences in her quality of English and the lyrics so with soul I was really convinced they all from USA
