Soap dishes should come with drain holes. The wet soap will slip off the rubber bands. 1) After using soap, rinse off the lather, shake the cake to remove excess water and place on dish along the narrow side so that the soap is sloping and raised by one edge to air dry. 2) You can also press into the cake a soda bottle cap and always put the soap down with the cap part below. This keeps the soap raised to allow air circulation. 3) lay a sponge on the base of the soap dish to catch the softened soap. Use sponge to clean things later... Like taps, basin, shampoo bottles, etc. Thoroughly wash the sponge after use and squeeze dry before putting it back below the soap.

Must work well. The problem to me specifically is that the very thought of the feel of pulling a whole bunch of hairs even with a comb (which is great because you don't have to touch them) just makes me sick. My dustpan (the kind with the long handle so you don't have to bend over to use it) has a comb built onto the front so when you're finished sweeping, you just run the broom over that comb and it removes all that hair into the dustpan. There's also another way of washing hands, which minimises water retained in the soap holder. This is a constant "battle" in my family as I try to explain to wash hands a little differently. Unlike the method used, first wet your hands under the tap, close the tap, scrub your hands with the soap or lightly scrub the palm area. Place the soap back and now open the tap to scrub and wash your hands clean. Thsi way the residual water does not collect in the soapdish.

A tip of my own. I have cats so for hygiene clothes & towels etc mean extra washing & drying. Before line-drying I tumble-dry - a few minutes saves expense & still dries things faster, with the bonus being the amount of fluff & pet-hair the dryer filters out! My home therefore has less dust & debris (& 'fibres') to be cleaned and the air I'm breathing is healthier too. The dryer saves electriity & cost spent on vacuuming, ironing (creases 'tumbled' out, and heating to keep home dry & mould-free. Further tip: Catch the lint & fluff blown out by the dryer in a mesh bag on the end of the vent-hose, whether it is inside or outside the home. For safety & efficiency - I empty the filter every time and as soon as any build-up appears in the mesh bag by turning it inside out into the bin. Also I use a long brush and vaccuum out any lint stuck inside the vent hose. In the summer I remove the vent-hose (+ vacuum hoses etc) for thorough washing & drying.

I use soft soap just pump the soap into your hand. The plastic bag trick is interesting but you are not doing a good job “sweeping” your floor. You are just getting surface dust and not getting into the low spots or grout lines. The plastic bag has a static charge and and will make a mess when you take the bag off. I would recommend you take the bag off while its inside a trash can. I have a long handle dust pan and it has a comb on it that cleans the broom. Highly recommended. Its also recommended that you either trim off bent or broken bristles or purchase a new broom when your old one is worn out. If you have hard wood floors I highly recommend you get a soft head dust broom and a small wet/dry vac. When you are done sweeping your hard wood floor use the dry vac to pick up the dirt and clean your dry mop head. You never want to “shake” the dirt off. A lot of it will float up in to the air. Not only will you breath it in but it will settle all over everything. Sorry for the book. I hope this helps.

A rubber or latex glove helps remove hair from clothing, furniture, car seats, ect. And a window squeegee or rubber bristled broom works great for floors.

In Europe, the soap dishes have a basin in the bottom so the water drains through and your soap don’t sit in water. Also, they have a magnetic top that you push into the soap and it floats and stays dry.

There are dustpans with built-in combs for the brooms, or you can attach a hair comb to the dustpan yourself to comb out the hair and other sticky stuffs. Better for the environment than using a plastic bag each time you sweep.

Omg a plastic bag, we're all going to die! Could just put the plastic bag on and leave it there. If your floors are that gross that you have to switch out the bag every time you've got more issues than sweeping lol.
