Radio was a lot of fun back in the eighties but it's pretty much a relic of the past, now. If you asked a kid today, what radio station they listen to, they'd give you a blank stare and ask, what do you mean?

What's a radio, gramps?? Part of a radiator??

@@RadioDJDude Yeah.... that's the ticket, yeah... it was part of a radiator mechanism on an old fashioned fossil fuel engine.... yeah, that's the ticket.

That sounds like a ton of fun. The only thing I would add is that the voices sounded a little too, uh, let's just say, mentally stable. 🤣 It's great for PSAs and all but what's more fun than to hear some neo-pubescent girly girl winning a prize or getting their favorite song played from a band if they have a crush on the lead singer.. (or the DJ himself😎) Here's the catch though. I've yet to see a way to doctor up an AI voice to project that level of excitement. There's an old air check of Kid Kelly on Z100 in NYC on KZbin that demonstrates what I'm on about. Cheers and happy DJing..

Nothing worse than a "stable" caller. :) I hear ya re. not being able to tweak the excitement levels in the bots. The speech to speech tech gets you close, but nothing beats the real deal...a tipsy lady calling from her single wide on a Saturday night. Yeeee-haw!

Hi Jeff Do you use Jam for your station jingles?
@grampsradio8 ай бұрын
Jam is not cheap. Peanut butter has gotten pretty expensive in this bidenflation economy, as well.
@RadioDJDude7 ай бұрын
Hey, Paul! I buy generic jingles from a company that bundles different packages. They're a bunch o' jingles without station names. I think some are from the old Century 21 & PAMS library. Fun stuff!

I really like your Voice guy, I've been looking for a good Imaging person. Great video, your 80s station sounds cool too!
