I heard someone singing this song recently with estonian words in aparty. I had not heard it before and could not forget it. I feel a powerful baltic spirit in it and it sounds beautiful in latvian. Greetings from Estonia!

@MrCilburn I am an Estonian and have to admit, that for me this is the most beautiful song in the world. I like it in all the languages, where it has been translated to - originally Livonian, but Latvian and Estonian are very beautiful too. Finnish version is also good. "Mu isamaa on minu arm" definitely has its own charm and backstory, I wouldn't prefer one to the other.

I lived in Riga for a year, and our Latvian language teacher taught us this song as the most quintessential of Latvian songs. She was so moved when we sang this song for her in parts. During that time, my group taught a group of lessons at the Latvian Pedagogical Institute, and at the end, as thanks, the teachers sang Put Vejini for us. It was so beautiful.

I have real difficulties in understanding how this song could be compared to the Estonian "Mu Ismaa on minu arm". All the meaning, tone, adequacy, power and emotions are completely different.
