Guys a friendly request don't insult engineering field even Sundar pechai is an engineer who studied here and don't discourage young hearts .tell them how to put hard work to study rather than commenting on the field due to this reason only no one is selecting the field

Yeah of course Sundar pichai is an engineer but he did not study in some local college . He studied in the Indian institute of technology. Getting into IIT is very tough.

Only 10 or 15 percent of the engineers get good placements and have secure jobs in India. The rest have no option but to find alternate jobs. Ive seen people who gave up on their subject and worked in a fastfood joint and all. Thats the issue. Too many candidates, too few jobs. Result being unemployment.

THE MUTANT BEAST engineering mass dan bro, nane engineering dan padikuren, the point is making awareness against many local and unprofessionaled engineering colleges, engineering is good stream to choose, but only in well established and recognized colleges, even arts hav such kind of colleges but engineering colleges are more in proportion(the bad ones)..... So u hav to choose according to ur will and what u really want, don't listen to ur relatives or friends make ur own choice. Be aware of these kind of institutions...

IN 2012 almost 120k student passed out in just five courses CSE, ECE, EEE, Mechanical and IT. And only 10k people got a job passing out, while less than 35% were provided with opportunity for a job interview. You see what is wrong with this pattern?. People should understand these course are gate way courses meaning you should stop at BE, but need to complete PG. Which means this isn't for everyone. There are other domain specific courses offered in engineering like Instrument Engineering. Which is either left untouched by large portion of students or most colleges affiliated with Anna university do not offer them.

Reading the comments I see a lot of people telling put chutney to not discourage student from pursuing engineering. Stop saying this, put chutney isn't doing that. Actual problem is no one follows their passion, people who like music, acting or people who want to be entrepreneurs all just blindly join engineering just because everyone else is doing it. The majority of the students who take engineering don't even like what their studying. Is this what everyone wants? How many people you know studied mechanical or electrical engineering and are now working in TCS or Infosys??? Or how many people who graduated with B.E. get good jobs? Why do you think a parota master gets more salary than most engineers? India will progress as a nation only when young individuals achieve in fields that they're passionate about. Let me tell you this, a lot of people can get a B.E. degree but not all of them can call themselves engineers. I'm still waiting for Dr. Kalam's India 2020. It is not going to happen in two months, let's get there at least by 2030.
