Spring 2024: A Chinese mercenary on the Russian side, who was wounded in battle and taken to the hospital, posted a video on Twitter in which he talked about his experiences on the battlefield. He spoke of the huge threat posed by the Ukrainian army's numerous drones. "Drones are constantly flying overhead, and when they spot us, numerous backup drones rush to attack us like hornets. We can only lie down in the trenches and wait for the drones to leave. My mercenary unit of about 10 people, including myself, all died within a short time, except for a few who were injured. The Russian soldiers who replaced them were all amateurs with no combat experience, and they all died shortly after. "Brothers! We can't win this war. There are too many casualties."

It doesn't need to. How long is Russia willing to occupy places whilst taking losses? There will become a point, perhaps 20 or 30 years, maybe less, when it just isn't worth it anymore. The Afghans didn't retake any land or win any battles but they ejected the Russians and NATO. Different geography certainly, but drone warfare will transform resistance and insurgency.

We have one thing in the west that is an Authoritarian Regime neutralizer if there ever was one, and it's stronger than even a Storm Shadow Cruise missile and all it is our word. We only have to say that as a Rules-Based International Community, our backs are against the wall, because we cannot now or ever allow a sovereign nation's integrity to be stamped in the mud or as a nation, for it to be parceled up or annexed or conquered by a neighboring country or by any other country. Ukraine had a temporary setback when arms shipments were stopped. This allowed Ruzzia to seize more Ukrainian territory making it more difficult for Ukraine to fight back. Each time Ruzzians seize a village, they are not so dependent on supplies as they rob and loot the goods and food left by the retreating villagers.

This war can't be won by tinkering around with increasing defense spending to 3.5% when in reality it should be 5% until this war is over and Russia is out of Ukraine. Then the defense spending could be reduced back down to 3.5% in order to create a viable deterrence to potential future Russian aggression. After all, this war is in Europe and is not a direct threat to America. It's long past time for the EU nations, and NATO countries in particular, to pay their fair share on defense and be less dependent on the US..

IMF reported russian inflation at 9.8% at the very highest point last year. Keep in mind this is a country at war. To put this in perspective, both USA and UK had inflation over 9% a couple years ago without a war.
