Also, for clarity, the US spends $50 billion p.a. to maintain and upkeep it's appreciably smaller stock of nukes. Pre-war, the ENTIRE Russian defence budget was $60 billion. Putin knows his nukes may not actually work !

Russia is not hard up for negotiations, UK, America and the West is. Trump will come to the table empty handed. Nothing he says will tickle Putin's fancy. Russia will walk away from the neg table. Trump, also fed up with the conflict, will walk away from the conflict. He will tell Britain and the West to club in and take over the show in ukr. Should they consider ukr the effort.
