@@supertuscans9512 It was a strike on an ammo dump, not a fuel depot. In any case, it's pensioners in the UK who will be freezing this winter, not those in Russia. They have enormous supplies of oil, gas, and coal for their own consumption, as well as massive amounts of hydropower from their many rivers. They also have huge forests and unlimited wood. Strikes on their oil facilities may impact their exports and such, but it won't affect their domestic situation at all. They'll be plenty warm this winter

What would be the point of helping for all this time, and when Ukraine perform miracles and get take the fight to Russia, the west hesitates. It would make the last 2 years a waste of money and will drag the conflict on longer. Give them the nod. Offence is a legitimate form of defence. Plus don't forget the chemical weapons attack disguised as a clumsy inept assassination on British soil with a Novichok in spray bottle. You guys are under the delusion that “winning a war” is the goal. Ukraine winning or losing was never that important to Western Governments. Grinding away Russian forces leaving them a hallow shell without giving up too much (money, technology, Western forces/people and equipment, territory) was the goal. Russia, along with China, has been a growing looming threat in recent years. We face a very real possibility of having to face China in open conflict. We definitely wouldn’t want to face both Russia and China simultaneously. This conflict allows us to effectively take one player out of the equation. You don’t get that with a quick victory. It’s in our interest for this conflict to drag on. We test our equipment against theirs, we learn and adapt. Equipment of theirs seized by Ukraine is provided to us to analyze (there is no good report I can find that outlines what all we have been able to look at), we see where we might be weak and where we should focus our research dollars for future capabilities, all while grinding down their capabilities and strength. And remember that much of China’s equipment and strategies is derived from Soviet technology and doctrine. We also send a message to China. This is what you would be up against. And that was our old equipment.
