I get most of my Ukraine news now from KZbin because the main stream media is so slow, sometimes even reporting things that happened over 2 weeks ago. That's as good as forever in this war. When I tell my wife the latest news she keeps doubting me saying that she hasn't seen or read anything like that on the news. That said, it takes a lot of experience to know what is propaganda and what is fact. I've even fallen for some of this, but you soon get the true picture when you read the comments. There are a lot of eagle eyed guys out there watching out and calling out any BS they might find.
@eurodoc6343

There's also a lot of people, particuarly on Twitter, who want to be the first to report any rumor from the battlefield. Some of these rumors actually end up being true, others, not so much. If the professional media is slower, at least they're vetting their sources before reporting.

@@eurodoc6343 Sure, the professionals are held to high standards of reporting and that means taking time to first corroborate whatever story they have with other sources. I'm not criticising that. But it's still interesting to get up to the minute news even if it means taking it all first with a pinch of salt. And anyway, over time you start to differentiate between who on KZbin is seriously trying hard to give facts and is more trustworthy and the ones just manufacturing clickbait and peddling propaganda. A good indication of the quality of a KZbin channel on Ukraine are the numbers of likes. A good channel usually has a couple of Ks worth already a few hours after premiering its latest video.
@makelvin
@makelvin Жыл бұрын
@@mikethespike7579 , some people might know while many others not so much. Based on the number of likes alone cannot solely be used for trust worthiness. QAnon was or possibly still is highly popular even after many of its claims have proven to be false. I think it is always okay to take some rumors as interesting information for entertainment purposes, but always take that with a grain of salt. Your girlfriend is right to be skeptical until the actual mainstream media corroborate with the story as confirmation much later.

Many more intercepted phone calls from Russian soldiers can be heard on KZbin. It is thanks to the Security Service of Ukraine that we have real insight into the state of the Russian armed forces. In addition, the war crimes confessions can be useful in the trial at the UN War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague.

These types of recordings should be played over and over preferably on a site dedicated to exposing Russian war crimes. Social media companies should review these conversations and make an exception by creating a page to help in the prosecution of these crimes against humanity. For once Facebook and like companies can do some good to make up for all the harm they have done.
