I loved it when Gen Jones described Farage as an apologist for Putin. My one criticism is, I don't think Farage is ignorant of or naive about history when he calls for negotiation with Putin. The Ruzzkies want a peace agreement, so I have one I bet my life Ukraine will accept. Pull out all military and stop their support of the Donetsk and Luhansk separatists. Btw, about the video, an unspecified amount of aid has already reached the battlefield BUT let's say it's 40%. Then by the time the rest trickles in, their new fighter jets will also be in the air AND they'll be getting money from Ruzzie's illegal funds (via interest) as well. Also, to the commander, a big part of why NATO exists was bc of the massive Soviet stockpiles; I'm sure he knows that but didn't mention it. The Ruzzkies have lost about 45-60% of their stockpiled important items, except nukes (which may very well not work). Lastly, the US spends 1.3T annually on defense and intel.

@kimbaldunsmore46333 ай бұрын
@@frankstonrat This war, like all wars has forced the rapid development of technology by one side or both. ln particular as a set-piece action with conventional forces vs conventional forces that we haven't seen for a very long time. it really is a 'battle lab' in real time (horrible though that is for those involved). To me, Ukraine has been amazingly adept at battlefield manoeuvre, learning as they go and adapting existing and emerging technologies to their advantage. 'Drone boats' and other remotely operated vehicles are nothing new and have been part of most advanced nations military S&T/R&D efforts for some time, but are generally in my understanding not at the front of capital equipment acquisition. However the fact of the success of Ukraine without a navy to speak of achieving 'Sea Control' (a key element of western maritime doctrine) in the Black Sea with this technology alone is nothing short of astonishing and will be causing a massive rethink amongst all maritime powers. While there will be for the foreseeable a need for capital ships and their escorts in 'bluewater' operations, the success of the Ukrainians in the more littoral environment of the Black Sea, l am sure will have many military planners around the place on the scramble, because their adversaries are watching just as closely. Artillery shell numbers are not the be all and end all. The M777 Howitzer, as used by the Ukraine military, fires Excalibur shells that have a circular error probable of 5m at a range of 24Km. This means that most targets are destroyed in the first or second shot. Russian artillery is experiencing extensive barrel wear and the shells from North Korea are of indifferent quality. As a result, Russia fires hundreds of shells to achieve what Ukraine can achieve with two Excalibur shells. It will be a long time before the USA is involved in any kind of land battle in which Excalibur shells would have any meaningful effect, so the USA holding them back as an ‘insurance policy’ would be folly when Ukraine is already using them so effectively to degrade the capability of the USA’s greatest potential adversary.

Sorry but you’re deluded. The Excalibur rounds are worth something like $100k each versus less than $1k for a regular Russian 152mm round, so the calculus just doesn’t stack up even before you get to the issue of availability and effectiveness. If Farage is making such statements in order to capitalise on them politically, that means that such sentiments exist within the broad strata of the British public, in which case they should be taken into account and external policy should be tailored in accordance with them. Brushing them aside is undemocratic and is a display of disdain of the ruling class to a large segment of the electorate.

Why use a person who has been involved in the complete Western debacle in Iraq as an "expert". How can you evaluate what this man claims?
@PhilSophia-ox7ep3 ай бұрын
How would him commanding a brigade in Iraq make a difference? He didn't come up with the strategy. He didn't determine to go in. By your logic, no US or UK General is a military expert despite being involved in the military for 35 years!! Meanwhile, I bet you buy all of the propaganda from Russian 'experts' who launched a far more disastrous mission in Ukraine than the US/UK did in Iraq.

Agreed. Jones' only demonstrated military achievement was the drawing down of the UK Army into a small, hollow force not capable of waging war on a large scale. He's a disgrace to the uniform.

Iraq was not (militarily speaking) a "debacle." The Iraqi Army and Air Force were obliterated in the space of two months. The planning of the politicians for management of Iraq post-victory was imperfect, by that has nothing to do with Gen. Jones' merits.

That's LITERALLY the very first thing he said... He then goes on to explain that it hasn't worked. And define "considerable"? Ukraine's retaking of Kharkiv THAT was considerable Ukraine's retaking if Kherson above the Dnipro River, THAT was considerable. Russia hasn't taken considerable territory since the initial months of the war. They've crawled forward here and there but there's certainly been no massive powerful push through Ukrainian defenses.
