1. There's still a lot of time till Jan 20, and even then it will take some time until Trump and his team will take power. Meanwhile, seems like Biden team feels the same as you and finds this a great opportunity to push us all to the brim, because - hey - russians would want to start on the wrong foot with Trump, would they? 2. But russians have no idea what Trump will do once he is in power. In fact, if russians suck it up and take it waiting for Trump, the "what was allowed" territory may grow so much, Trump may get the wrong idea and do something stupid. That is, if the president has enough power - which thus far seemed like president is a stick figure and the decisions are made by someone else. What if a long range missile hits a major russian city? The only aid I think the US should provide to Ukraine is first working with Israel to provide Ukraine with their own "Iron Dome" missile defense system and humanitarian aid to facilitate medical needs and evaluations. The only other role the president should provide is that of a moderator over peace negotiations between the two countries in conflict to urge against the use of biological chemicals or nuclear warfare. Other than those things, we should be hands off.
