Wtf would a protest do? Nothing! It's the people that are to manage governments , they will not hold themselves accountable and people continuously let them get away with everything instead of marching to Washington, and dragging them out of the white house like other countries do. AMERICANS are the only ones that take BS from their government which will continue to allow them to have power over you.

I'm amazed that people are surprised that companies that specialize in hazardous materials disposal are being utilized in this situation. All of the locations named so far that everyone is losing their minds over have been companies that process this kind of stuff on a daily basis year after year and nobody had an issue until last week.

I can understand why you don't want it in your community, but this train just happened to derail in our community. It isn't our mess either; our state wasn't even the destination state. People are becoming very sick, pets and wildlife are dying, children are getting rashes and many are having issues with chemical inhalation. Businesses have been ruined, people's homes have lost their value. It's sick and sad that you think that almost two million gallons of waste should sit above ground, rather than be removed somewhere that can process it and bury it 40, 000 ft underground. Again, I understand you not wanting it in your community, but it's already contaminated the soil and Ohio River in this small town that didn't ask for this disaster either.

I live in this community. The railroad, EPA, first responders from multiple counties and HAZMAT made that decision. They knew it was a terrible option, but one of the cars containing vinyl chloride began overheating. Had it exploded, it would have been the same amount of burning toxins released into the air, but it would have blown shrapnel for at least a mile. I've hated how they've handled every aspect of this, but it doesn't seem there was an alternative to the release.

No I don’t think so it needs to go somewhere else because are high quality it already poor enough here we have one of the AQI of every state. Especially since we are right in the middle of both jet streams , we have all the nasty pollution areas and smokers , trash , and we are trying make an impact by removing unhealthy environmental habits like illegal drugs and littering so adding toxic waste from train that is dangerous to all of us not only now but a huge earthquake and space storm in the future. We don’t want the toxic waste mound here and 1 drop can be smelled 20miles away so it will make are air , roads , and buildings stink even more when they already stink bad enough. I really appreciate it if you doesn’t get placed here so we can keep advertising a happy, healthy, , safe, climate .
