First time I "Put Up Hay" I wasn't much bigger than the bale (square bale back then). My uncles laughed at me until I swung that bale up on the trailer. They stopped laughing then. A few years latter I was priming backer (not sure how to spell it but that's how we pronounced it). It is really sad that most youngster today will never know the smell and fun to be had in a hay loft.
