@@padraig5335 Its called that because they needed to add something to the game to attribute what europeans do on the game floor. Brothers have been doing that step since the days of the ABA.. especially the 80's NBA, I think Larry Bird did it a couple of times after watching what the brotha's was doing, then it abused all over the playgrounds during the AND 1 error and videos of their games.. and during that whole time the Harlem Globe trotters would do it too.. and yet the name euro step comes out during the turn of the century.. sometime between 2001-2006.. I cant recall the official date. Sorry.. he just hip hopped over players.. like Deion and Barry Sanders were doing but at the Quarterback level.. last person to do that was Michael Vick. Avoid the crucial hits that come from running and he will be fine unless someone take him out with dirty hit, which is soon to come playing in this league. Happen to Steve Young just before he retired.

@@jaybrown3341 he lacked polish obviously and his carrying style was awful. But he was in high school, his ceiling was absolutely ridiculous. He was probably the most athletic player of all time. Definitley up there with like deion sanders/bo jackson. He played DB, QB, WR and kick/punt returner and he was one of the best basketball players in the country. On top of being one of the toughest players ive ever seen in any sport along with his winning mentality, only problem was his maturity. don't know how much of an x and o's guy he would have been. No coach should take credit for Lamar Jackson's talent. Look at his high school and college film. I've been watching football for more than 50 years, the NFL systematically has stifled the natural talents of certain players for decades. Warren Moon was a pocket passer from a big school the university of Washington, and the NFL passed on him, because they wasn't ready for someone who was that polished coming out of college. Even though there were several black quarterbacks before him including Vince Evans. And the end of the day football at any level is just a game, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to get the most out of your best talent.

I disagree. There is definitely someone that can take credit on improving his throwing and his ability to read defenses. Roman also can take credit for building a much diverse offense around him which was never done when Vick was quarterback. His talent is great but it's not a one-man show. Otherwise we would have one to the Chargers twice last year

They better! He is worth more to his team then most head coaches are worth to theirs. I'm not saying he should get paid like Jon Gruden, but the value that Jon Gruden has for the Raiders franchise, Greg Roman's is higher for the Ravens. They better give him a hefty raise. And that's no knock on John Harbaugh, obviously! John Harbaugh is I think amongst The Best of the Best head coaches in the League. And that's not to say that John Harbaugh can't have success without great Roman. Because obviously he can. However, Greg Roman has proved his incalculable value.

Definitely! The thing is, there are just so many incredible athletes who have played quarterback, but who they try to shoehorn into a system that didn't take full advantage of their talents. And that's why I think Greg Roman, Jim Harbaugh, Ozzie Newsome, that entire staff and front office deserves just as much credit for The Raven success and Lamar Jackson's success and growth. And that's no knock on Lamar Jackson. That's just giving credit where credit is due. They are going to have all kinds of free agents begging to play with them! To have a team that actually believes in you, where belief is not just lip service or hope, it's actual belief back by investment oh, that is invaluable!

Ryan Clark is right about other guys being dynamic, but just made to play other positions. We compared game tape when I was in college at a competitive Division 1 program and the most explosive quarterback talents were moved to Cornerback, Receiver, Kick Returner and Safety over guys who were devoid of athleticism in comparison. Arm talent was the same, there has always been a double standard that devalues athleticism at the position.

They did the same thing last year. While everybody was having wet dreams over Baker all the pundits could say was "How do we stop Lamar." NFL network did two seminars with Willie Macginnis on how to stop Lamar. When the Chargers stopped Lamar (actually Morningwig stopped Lamar but that's a different story) the football world declared a national holiday. SAS still gets moist about telling everyone how pathetic Lamar was in that game. And now this year it's back to the same question, "How do you stop Lamar?" But at least this year most people are giving him his props.

All the talk about Lamar taking hits from scrambling and getting injured is stupid Lamar is Alvin Kamara couple inches taller with the skills to play QB he rarely gets hit in the pocket something Cam Newton could not avoid with Carolina and is the main reason why he has lost a couple seasons to injury. If you notice when Lamar is hit while scrambling he rarely gets hit square he has that ability to maneuver his body and absorb hits he also will deliver the blow if the defender is of similar stature to him and he does not try to be a hero he will run out of bounds and not take unnecessary hits something Cam Newton wouldn't do with good reason considering he is the size of a defensive end

And look at the pocket passers who have been out for injury, Drew Brees, Patrick Mahomes, Ben Rothlesberger, etc. And Lamar has only missed game time due to his greatness, sitting out 4th quarters and the last game of the season because he put his team in a comfortable winning position.

Just to put it out there: the NFL has had running QBs before. Randall Cunningham was called the Ultimate weapon. They had cardboard cutouts of the man with Rockets on his feet in the supermarket for crying out loud! And just go back and look at what other QBs “like” Jackson have done. You will not get the “old way of thinking” to change until you show me a Run 1st QB that can last more than 5 year before he is done.

Im so sick of that description. He's a qb. No such thing as a run first qb. Cunningham lasted more than 5yrs Steve Young lasted more than 5yrs Donovan Mcnabb lasted more than 5yrs Steve McNair lasted more than 5yrs Vick lasted more than 5yrs Russell Wilson lasted more than 5yrs Cam Newton lasted more than 5yrs All of those qbs were decent enough passers and ran a lot. They might not have ran as much as Lamar(NOBODY HAS) but they still ran a lot. The only reason RGIII didn't last is because he was made of glass. Lamar isn't. He's never been injured and neither has Russell Wilson.

@@insertcolorfulmetaphor8520 Cunningham and Russell Wilson are not like lamar at all. Vick is the best comparison, but I feel like Lamar has better pocket presence and arm strength imo. Young? You mean Steve Young right cuz I know you don't mean Vince. Never seen him play but I'm not sure if he had the quickness and acceleration in and out of cuts like lamar.

@@insertcolorfulmetaphor8520 Moreover, my statement is in response to what the hosts said about other dudes were like Lamar but were converted. No, Lamar has always been able to throw. Most of these other QB's were not as fast as Lamar, nor could they throw like him. That's why Lamar is doing what he is doing right now.

@@astrocade6132 Again, I think you may want to temper your enthusiasm. See the response to Mahomes' first full year starting, vs year 2 for Mahomes... Yes, Lamar is balling out, but the real test comes in the final stretch of the season (the final 5 games). I think that reality will set in, during year 2... Also, Lamar needs to have a few successful 4th qrt comeback scenarios, and win some tough close games... I site the 2015 Cam Newton season, as to why adversity truly shows you what kind of player you have. Cam crumbles under extra pressure. Russell Wilson focuses, and ups his game, when under extra pressure. We shall see what Lamar does... I wish him much success, and I think a Seahawks vs Ravens Super Bowl is the perfect way to cap off Russell Wilson's 2019 MVP season! ;-)
