these beaver have scattered with a little pressure . out of the 2 lakes , i have caught a male out of one and a female out of the other . they learn fast .

Great to still be following you Dan. Our season is over next week do I’m out scouting to see what is left or missed by other trappers. Season isn’t even over and I’m excited by what I’ve been seeing for next season!

Good stuff . the beaver here are staying close to the dens . must be dropping kits . our regular season closed March 15th . i'm just helping a few of the local landowners out with beaver problems . our county supervisor is giving them my number . our beaver can be trapped year round here . not much competition . not many of us left to trap .

I spoke with a property owner Wednesday whose property adjoins a beaver swamp I trapped 2 years ago. In fact, I made an ice snaring video on the swamp(can be seen on my channel). He told me every year a couple of people will stop and ask to trap but never come back, mostly younger fellas. One trapper(?) told him he’d trap the beaver if he was paid. You know what the property owner told him so he never came back. I got sole permission to trap his property with a handshake and met a new friend that day. He told me he had a beaver in a shallow ditch next to his garage and within 20’ of where we were bs’ing last week, it made a snarl and tail slapped and swam back into the swamp! LOL I think younger trappers have too many irons in the fire and don’t take trapping as serious as some of us older fellas where our word and a handshake are a bond & promise!

beaver here , are what is the highest value animals to target . fur , bounty , castor , meat . it all gets used .
