I apologise for the negative comment on Royal Match. If I had any way to tell the company that makes the game, or the ads how annoying the ads are I would not be commenting here. I get ads from Royal Match urging me to download it like 4 or 5 times a day, and the scenarios seem quite violent to me. Also, if they they have no ads, then they must be making their money with in game purchases. I live on a fixed income and the budget is extremely tight. I just have a very low tolerance for games where I'm supposed to rescue someone.

@@renaebettenhausen3611 they make their money through micro transactions. You aren't rescuing the king every level, you get stars for completing levels, that you use to decorate the castle. Anything historical could legitimately be placed into a modern house. Having 20th century as your most recent allows a medieval chest to sit comfortably next to a Victorian armchair. A local artist and set designer, Derek Hill said, "Put together what pleases you. The consistency of your own taste will make it work." Glebe House in Donegal, Ireland, is testament to that.

Back in the 1970s my then-husband and I built a couple of cabins. First in Wyoming, the second on the edge of the forest in rural Montana. Like many others then, we were part of the counter culture back to the land movement. Also raising goats and chickens along with our young son. Organic garden, making bread in wood fired stove, etc. I love watching your process, and doing it in a hands-on, comfortable, manageable way. Only concern I have is this: You have well-fireproofed underneath the stove, but nothing on the adjacent walls, but wood. Yikes! Looks very scary to me. Remember that heat radiates and rises. Never leave that fire alone.

I like the idea of having one or two older fancier pieces and then some newer/simpler rustic items. It works in a sort of treasured heirlooms, either from before your family fell on hardtimes or in particular for Morgan's cabin thing, that you brought with you from Europe when traveling to the new world. The moving to the Americas works particularly well for having light wood (say from clearing the land) furniture that is made with care but not too much in the way of fancy details. I think this bed still works for that pourpose because if you have the rods(which would be light and therefore transportable) it's not unreasonable to use it. Especially in areas with limited long large straight wood(where I am it's not super common)

It’s okay to mix styles. Living in the UK we have cottages from lots of different historic periods, but none of them have stayed exactly as they were built. New owners always ‘modernised’ them. Medieval cottages didn’t have glass in the windows or a chimney, or an iron stove. Tallow candles and smoke helped to create the authentic yellow-brown walls, and the floors were often just earth or stone covered in rushes or straw. You’re not making a museum piece - just have some fun.

Also something to consider: If you plan to cover the cabin under your home insurance, the insurance company may require it. In my experience, they tend to get quite persnickety about wood heating.

Brilliant build but I mostly want to comment on how wild, yet authentically you, your style has developed into over the years. I love the blending of modern aesthetic (like the spiked collar, love!) with historical dress. Always a pleasure watching your videos, not just for the makes but also for the wicked good fashion styling.

I love how creative your videos are! I haven’t seen anyone do a sort of inception video and I thought it was a super cool idea. Morgan, you’re always killing it with the content. Love it and wishing you a happy and healthy new year! Thanks for sharing with us 🤠

If Morgan Donner hosted an HGTV show talking about rescuing and renovating historic houses (without losing their historic charm), I'd watch every season. There is something about her tone and cadence that makes talking about building a cabin so dang relaxing yet fun. Forget about the Property Brothers, I want to see Morgan Donner talk about historic houses

You probably get told by everyone "Gosh I wish I could be your friend!" But man I wish I could be your friend! I'd bring my spinning wheel and sit there and spin happily while learning fun things!

Love it all. I just finished up an ufp from my grandma...she was born in 1935. Cottage core apron in navy gingham finished with vintage lace. Best of all is the simplicity pattern was still in the box when they sold for 15 cents. Thought about you and how some 🍄 🍄 🍄 🍄 on the pocket would be just perfect....and here you are building a cottage.

Ma'am the cottage it's self was amazing. Lovely work done by all involved. But the idea of how you edited the "first episode" and you were watching it, I loved it. Very creative 😊

Totally agree about avoiding “ historical beige”! I live in an old adobe from around 1830 and I’ve gone pretty bold with color and I’m loving it!

You should have rosepainting on the beams. They're historical, beautiful, colourful. And they give off great vibes.
