I would love to have had that blue bike that they did a giveaway on a while back that he redone and made it look all original and he just restored it but I think that he ended up putting an electric and kick start on it to make it easier for whoever won the bike and he even found another bike just like it before he did the giveaway and that bike was also restored and the same exact bike went for a very pretty penny at auction

Cool bike since I began watching these videos, I’m starting to want a Panhead. My dad’s was a 52 or 53, with the black lower legs as well. Even my birth year bike is a Panhead. I believe his was blue, recall my grandmother showing me a picture when I was younger. By the time we were riding together I had forgotten about the Panhead. After he passed I found some pictures, his funeral was 60 years to the day of the first Panhead image.

Thanks guys you bring lots of great memories back to this old man. I had a 1952 74 Pan Head. It was a great bike going from English bike to the big 74. I bought it around 1958 and put lots of miles on it. Then in 61 got stupid and got married couldn't afford the woman and the bike had to sell it. Big Mistake.

So happy I jumped onto these guys/this channel.. Been binging this content for a few weeks now and am absolutely gobsmacked by Matt’s enthusiasm and the honesty and genuine love for these machines from everyone involved In their caretaking. I’ve been into motorbikes for near 40 yrs and have had a plethora of bikes. Always loved the lines of old Harleys and I’m getting my education here-who knows maybe one day I’ll get a barn find up and running.. Until then I’ll ride my Newer HD and hopefully point it in the Wheels through Time direction sooner than later. Cheers

I’m digging the rims on your bike!! I have a 57 pan rigid I’m working on..I call it Frankenstein!! It was basically a motor and a frame and springer forks..the frame is most likely from the 50s, the forks appear to be aftermarket but look correct for the frame. The engine was rebuilt and never run. Putting Fatboy rims on it, disc brakes, 5 speed trans from a softail in it…made my own fenders cast from fiberglass! Lost of custom stuff…

My uncle built a Shovelhead hot rod motorcycle from the ground up with a springer front end that has been a little raked and stretched but not overly crazy and he didn't rake and stretch the front end but whoever he bought it from did and they did such a good job doing it you can't even tell unless you know what you're looking at because there is no weld marks or anything and it's an original springer front end too and after they got done modifying it they had it rechromed and everything all my uncle had to do was bolt it onto his bike that was an original Shovelhead frame that was also raked and stretched on the neck of the frame and he put a 180mm rear tire and a 21in front tire on it and he put the same fenders on it as the bike behind the Panhead and coming from a family that builds and races motorcycles and drag cars he didn't leave the engine stock on the Shovelhead he ended up making it have alot more horsepower and go alot faster than they did stock and a friend of his has an all original 40 something Knucklehead trike that has the original paint job and everything and he lives in Texas and he rides it to Bike Week in Daytona, Florida every year and his wife rides with him as well on the back and the trike still only 😮has the original kick start no electric start at all on it😅

I have a recipe in my head for a Hardtail conversion to a 1200 Sportster, or if I wanna be really dumb, an 883 with a Hammer 1275, set up like the late '40's-'50's STYLE. Seeing this Bike, I would absolutely love to do it as a Tribute. No I wouldn't waste the Original parts on a modern Bike. Plenty of Aftermarket stuff to pay homage.
