Your baby chilling in his room and self soothing is great parenting. He's not hurt, hungry or freaking out about anything. He's talking to himself and exploring and it's cute as frick. If we don't let our babies do this, they end up hating to be alone sometimes. I applaud your and Ryan's parenting. Bravo!!!

Boy, do I feel your pain! I just did this exact same thing this past weekend since I had three days off. I began around 7:30 PM on Friday, and didn't finish until late Sunday afternoon. I built shelves. I repotted. I started some propagations. I watered and cleaned leaves. I have over 100 plants spread out all over my two bedroom townhouse, so I was up and down stairs constantly re-organizing and winterizing. Whew!!! And did I mention that I am 62 yrs young? My knees are still popping, and my back is still cracking (LOL). But as I walk into each and every room and see how happy and healthy my boo boos look, I know that I would do it again with no hesitation...

Hi, @@annalawton8163 ... I don't use anything to shine my leaves. For the large ones, I just wipe them down with a damp cloth or paper towel. For smaller leaves, I have a small power sprayer that I use to knock off the dust and hopefully any pests...

The obvious reason maybe? sleep, vitamins, hydration, exercise? Maybe you feel low on energy because you are a mom for the first time? Don't be too hard on yourself hun. Many of us have already been there, we understand. Sometimes you just need to take a break. What I did when I felt low on energy, I made small goals for myself every day and took a lot of pauses. Also, I made strict routines on taking care of myself. Remember to ask for help, when you feel stressed out or sad! There is absolutely no shame in that, on the contrary! It is important for the baby to have a happy mom ;) A 'first-time mom' is no joke. As you said sometimes it is great to take a hard work day and just get it over with. The feel of satisfaction after accomplishing a big goal is just awesome. You did fantastically 🏆Stay safe 💚

Harli, when your baby gets a little older, he will try to climb the shelves. Put a bracket on both the shelves and fasten them to the wall so when he does, he doesn't pull the shelf on top of him. It's also a good idea to do that with his dresser.

Hi Harli! OMGolly girl, you definitely had your work cut out for you! You did a great job putting the shelving together. I was so glad when you came back with the drill. My husband bought me a small one, some screwdriver heads and drill bits, and I love it! The smaller size is easier to handle. Of course you're tired! Besides having a baby, breastfeeding, taking care of pets and the house, you were making mega trips to remove all of the plants and then carrying the heavy boxes up the stairs and putting it all together. Oh, and rescuing the cat. LOL! And you did it all in one day! KUDOS to you Harli! The shelves are really pretty. As others have said though, please anchor them to the wall, especially where you have them sitting on carpeting. We want you, family and pets to be safe! Just sayin! Thank you so much for sharing and looking forward to part 2!

I was so shocked at how many plants were in there, after I took them all out! I was like you, I had to power through, I couldn’t just come back the next day. My kitchen was bursting with plants! Anyway, I got it all cleaned out and reorganized my plants in there. I think it looks sooooo much better! Looking forward to watching your second video tour.
