They can survive indefinitely in the vacuum of space even when bombarded by solar radiation so this is nothing for them. I did my PhD thesis for biophysics on these little fellas. The issue is, we don't know if the water bears can survive the heat of the direct sun for very long without any water available for them. That could be another experiment, putting them in a dry and hot environment for an extended period of time to see how they survive it.
